by Ray and Flanigan. Offers from Southern Cal, South Carolina, Houston and Seton Hall. We were fortunate that a pg of this caliber was still available this late in the game

Didn't look like he had any other offers.

the offers from Paul Jones story on 24-7. Paul also reports that we are hosting a 2 guard from Memphis named Andre Applewhite. As an aside, he plays AAU basketball for the Atlanta Celtics which should debunk the ridiculous assertion by the "Kenny Payne morons" that Stricklin wasnt going to allow us to recruit AAU players. Claims an impressive offer list including Missouri, Auburn, Tennessee and Tulane.

I didn't see these offers, but Marcello reported that he claimed offers from South Carolina, Southern Cal, Seton Hall, and Hofstra. Not too bad.

We snagged him away from signing late with a bad pac10 team, a bad BigEast team, an awful SEC team, and a bad CUSA team.

I am happy we have another body at the 1, but calling us fortunate seems like a stretch. Fortunate is landing a program changer. Hell, I would say we are fortunate if we got a top20 player at their position during the spring period.

This guy though? It's great he signed and I hope he can develop into a hard working guard while the staff recruits and develops better players.

Getting offers from major conference programs in the spring period doesn't mean much when you are a 2* or lower player. It's cally programs that are scrambling and desperate so they offer to whoever is left over, versus perusing that same player as a junior or even early in their senior year.

Whoa, why are we so high and mighty all of a sudden? You'd think MSU's previous coach signed 4 stars and higher. Mostly 6 stars. Sometimes 7 stars or higher. This guy, OFFER SHEET ALONE, is more impressive than Deville, whose expected to go to Jackson State if he hasn't already. You all are so pessimistic. Dee makes a case for the best PG ever at this school and his offers were us and two mediocre ACC schools. Barry Stewart had an offer from us, ECU, and MTSU. Not every even decent player in college turns out to be decent. I'd say more often than not decent players make up most of the 1st round. Guys like Sydney happen everywhere multiple times everywhere. Everywhere except Kentucky. If he has half the talent of Bost and plays for a coach with twice the intensity of Stans he'll be good.

I agree. Some of these guys are too haughty for their own good. They sound like we'll be better off not signing a point guard and just playing with four players next year. It's ridiculous.
