Incredible second half performance. That's the kind of fire and leadership we need displayed more often. Nobody was going to keep Turner from making sure we win today.

Props to Randy for hitting those last two free throws. Props to Stans for calling the press. No way we would have won if that call hadn't been made.

All in all, that is a great character building win for the team. They should have lost based on our play for 75% of the game. But, that's why you play the entire game. Great effort at the end to pull out the W.

And for my one negative comment: I hope Stans watches the **** out of the tape of this game and learns a few things from it. UGA was very well coached and had a great gameplan today to give them a great chance at beating us. I think they are going to surprise some folks the rest of the year. Their talents set up to give a team like ours fits and is likely what we will see come NCAAT time. We've got to find ways to be able to defend when we play teams that have alot of beef on the inside or we are going to have another early exit. We can't expect to have the shots dropping like they did in the 2nd half today every time we get out-muscled. There is PLENTY to learn from this one.

he seemed to be having a tough time with playing time, but has remained a team player. He was waiting for that opportunity to shine, and he got it.

my opinion. Can he not play "D" and match the intensity? Plus, he plays all out, has the desire to win, and is fearless. I am telling you, Barry will be better off the bench. But thanks to Barry for hitting a big three and those two free throws.

Randy is easily our best perimeter defender. He shuts down his man every night. I know it's fashionable to hate the guy, but he's vastly underappreciated and deserves to start. Now if you said Phil should start for Ravern, I'd completely agree.

That sounds like a terrible idea. Barry is our best defender and still averages double figures in points .... Besides, the man hasn't come off the bench since he was a freshman. I'd be all for Phil starting over Ravern or even Kodi, but in my opinion he is a prototypical 6th man - electric, reasonably level-headed, and can guard 1-4. Not that we really use him that way, but it takes the right type of player to be effective coming off the bench and Phil has it.

Great point about what we can learn from this game. We were on short rest and it showed. Jarvis looks a little banged up to me, too. For our team, it was an amazing job of stealing a huge victory. And you're right about the the inside defense too. They were schooling us all game. We've got to figure that out.

I don't know about other fans and the team, but with the early start and the big NFL schedule today, I found myself less excited than usual about the game. I'm glad we got through it with a positive outcome.

I watched the end of the game without sound at a sports bar. I wonder if Georgia was pissed about no foul being called at the end of the game. Unfortunately, my DVR shut off with two minutes left so I haven't been able to look at it again. Regardless, it was an incredible comeback for MSU's most successful atheltic program.

We are 3-0 and we could easily be 0-3. I'm happy as hell about it. But I'm ready for what's next. Hopefully, it will be our level of play going up a notch and a ranking we can keep in the Top 25.

scorer. How do know that his poor decision making, missed shots, and turnovers don't hurt us more. Could Phil Turner's intensity not translate to a better OVERALL performance? SHUTUP--YOU DON'T KNOW! I don't know, either. It's a discussion, I say try--that's my opinion. Don't tell insult anybody by saying they don't know what he/she is talking about. What is your pedigree, HERO?

thought he was transferring a few years ago (ie: Scooba)

Phil has been my favorite player on the team since he stepped on campus.

Our team is defense oriented and has been since Stans has been the head coach. Barry IS our best perimeter defender and does a great job defending an opposing high scoring guard. For proof just look at the Arkie game.

Phil will get his chance.

I dont care for him to start but I do wish he got more time. He provides a spark that seemingly goes unnoticed by the fanbase. He provided some of hte most important minutes and the MOST important quote of the 2008-2009 campaign. I am grateful that Phil Turner is a member of our team. He provides leadership and intensity that the rest of our team(excluding Bost) does not bring to the table. For the life of me why is he not getting more time??? Phil here is a thank you from Pdig on your OUTSTANDING play today in a game that was more than just AWFUL. You provided a spark that no one else could. And you provided us the fans one of the best experiences in the Hump that we have ever seen. The final comeback was a story book finish that I can't complement anymore than I have. I was excited to have chills run down my spine (a feeling I have missed thanks to the new video and the lack of Hank Flick) as the crowd erupted in cheers as the clock expired. Thank you Phil for providing our successful spark to win the game against a below average team.

On that note, not having Barry on the court defending and shutting down the oppositions best perimeter threat is one of the worst moves we as a team could make. Thats a terrible idea. However if we mixed up our substituion pattern to get phil in at different positions instead of primarily backing up Kodi we could utilizes his energy and aggressiveness and change the pace of the game. Honestly who cares if Phil starts but is allowed to play 23-28 min a game and give multiple players rest instead of just Kodi. Phil and Osby should be the first two off the bench anyways bc we don't lose much or anything at all with them on the court.

I wish he got more minutes than he does. I feel he's the best defender on the team, and a heck of a rebounder. He constantly hustles; never quits. Love it.
