he couldn't fall down well. Turned into a decent fantasy game for him but he almost brought the team back...great ending...glad I stayed up for it.
I might have done a few lookout blocks in practice. Rivers is a ***** and he is also my fantasy QB.
Manning routinely gets that exasperated look on his face and motions to his WRs and OL about something they should've done.. he's not quite as demonstrative like you said but he definitely has the reputation for blaming other guys when things go wrong on the field
He's just a loudmouth redneck from Alabama that if he hadn't been gifted enough to play QB in the NFL he would be buying his work clothes at Walmart, pulling for the Tide from his mobile home on Saturday, and Dale JR on Sunday. That said, he would drive me nuts as a teammate.</p>
Wouldn't you be pissed as hell if your center won't snap you the ball when you are yelling at him that the clock is about to expire (TWICE)? Or when your RT gets a false start on a critical 3rd down? Coaches do the exact same thing and nobody calls them crybabies. Rivers is basically a coach on this team - he is the unquestioned leader and is quick to hold people accountable. I like that. I have seen Favre do the same thing on many, many occasions too - talking smack to other teams, visibly upset at plays/players. Regarding Manning, in addition to all of his antics, he will also never apologize when it is his mistake. He always blames someone else. Those plays last night that went wrong were not Rivers' fault. On top of that, all the Chargers players love him and were basically all in support of Rivers taking over the team instead of LT (who actually is a crybaby) - that tells me that they respect his passion for the game.
I can obviously understand that my homerism makes me see this differently - but I love Rivers. He is a tough, throwback QB and a damn good one. The guy loves the game and plays it well.

and being a ***** on the field are two different things. Every time I watch San Diego I notice how much he bitches at his teammates in such a manner that if they weren't teammates, he would get his *** whipped. He might be different outside the playing field but on the field, he needs an *** whipping.
My wife's family knew the Rivers family when she was growing up. The thing is that Phillip's father always wanted to make sure his son was the starting QB. While they lived in Decatur, AL for a while, his father took a job as the HC at Athens HS just to guarantee that his son would play. He started in high school and when it came time for college, decided to go to NC State because neither Tuberville nor DuBose would guarantee him the starting job as a true Freshman. So to say that this guy is a crybaby is a very accurate statement.
What the hell does his dad have to do with him being a crybaby? Ok, so maybe he had an overbearing sports-psycho father - who cares - lot of professional QBs share that trait. The reason he didn't go to Auburn or Bama is because the coaches didn't like his wonky delivery. Hell, supposedly Jackie offered him...as a linebacker. So he went where he was wanted, then had probably one of the greatest careers ever by a QB at a BCS school.
