Cam, Derek, Cliff with healthy Mag and Griffiths makes up a really really good group

now the issue is the bench and could be setting ourselves up for similar issues. I think we need that extra guard but do any of them want to be a 6th man.

I am actually excited to drop players that have been here 4-5 years...that is the cycle, i never liked the extra covid year thing, to move on you have to let go of the past to get better

A bench of Wolf, Chol (assuming he's ready to go), Ndongo, Davis + portal transfers is not bad at all. We probably need a transfer 2 and a transfer PG. Won't have much depth at Guard.

I got the sense actually that Paul is coming back. He said along the lines of “Pike is going to get us better and in we’ll get there” or something like that indicating next year they intend to finish better than this year, and said “we” not “they” or “for him” or anything like that. And listening to how he laid it out there that Pike is the best coach I feel like he isn’t transferring or anything. So unless he wants to hang up the sneakers I think he comes back which is great.

Well we'll see. I just don't seem him coming in off bench when he could be starting at lots of other places. Will be interesting how it plays out.

Between all the emotion he showed and the way Pike was talking, I think there's already an understanding that he's gone. If that is the case though, I'm curious to know why.

You should want Paul back. Would love him as a 7th man. Get Derek and Cam in the back court

He continuously repeats that the seniors - Caleb, Paul, Oscar, and Andre - meant a lot to the program and are great kids. I think he knows none will be back.
Impossible

A few weeks ago, When I suggested that Paul may play somewhere else next year, some twits yelled at me

I’ll have to dig up the posts.

Paul may come back , we don’t know yet. Pike will talk with him in the coming weeks.

But I have a feeling that he’ll grad transfer out.

He ain't a starter next year

I’m confused. Haven’t you said Rutgers fans are dumb for pushing Paul out.
He’s going to transfer to another school (Indiana?) and crush us.

But he can’t even start for us?

So which it is. He’s not good enough to start over Simpson or he’s so good he’s going to transfer to another P5, start and crush us?

I do believe Paul will enter portal though, so we all seem to agree on that. He will be a terrific pickup for i someone.
I can't imagine Paul transferring to play for a different coach, not if you watch the post game presser. He loves it here and will have his spot here and will hopefully get healthy again, finally, and play his *** off again. It's certainly possible he moves on to something else like coaching or whatever.

This. I also believe Paul said he loves this university in the MSU post-game and he's partway to his Masters degree. He may hang it up but he won't likely be playing somewhere else.

Basically zero chance Paul transfers. He's either back or done. I think he will be back

Hyatt will be a 6th year player if he comes back. He could definitely be gone

Oskar could want playing time and leave. I think it'll be tough even if Hyatt leaves with Mag and Ndongo/Chol at the 4

Miller probably gone. Dean possibly gone but he's a fine 3rd string 5. Remember no one good is coming to back up Cliff and Wolf if Cliff is back

If Cliff leaves we can bring in a quality 5 in the portal or maybe Bodo or a late option emerges from juco

Bac I think bench will be much improved…
Chol, Baye, Davis, Wolf, need one guard from portal. Also would not be surprised if Hyatt returned .. and would welcome his experience for a bench player.

Maybe he wants a team & coach that believes
you win by scoring points not just preventing
the other team from scoring. Maybe he found
a coach and team that he will fit in better.
Maybe a team that has a point guard that can shoot. This guy is very dedicated to NJ and Rutgers but realizes it is time to move on.
God forbid he goes to this site and see all the negative comments on the team and himself.
I truly believe Pike is losing it and is being out coached.Losing in the first round of the NIT after 7 years is not acceptable.

Meeetings need to occur quickly with Paul and Cliff because they are starters.Replacements from the transfer portal for any vacant scholarships should have proven scoring ability and hopefully the skillset to create and make shots off the dribble.Bench scoring must improve because opponents gained the advantage when substitutions were made.

Paul also said "I'm so thankful that I got to play for him (Pike)"

I think he's done. Or at least as of now he is.

agreed. If he leaves, I don't see him playing somewhere else. Would love to have him back for another year myself
