Mullinz to Mizzou**

For real, I think the only SEC school Mullen would leave us for would be Arkansas... but Arkansas may not give Mullen the time of day. I expect there to be a long line of candidates that would have to say no before Mullen gets a call. Tennessee has already expressed interest in Mullen, but I would think he would see that more of a lateral move, if not a step down. People will not be patient with him there and they have less coming back than we do this upcoming year.

Wow. 2nd best coach in their history (behind Dan Devine) and fired after 1 bad season. Get ready to battle Kentucky for last place the next few years Missouri.

This would be completely idiotic on Mizzou's behalf, if true.

I read on another board that he recently got a divorce and supposedly has a young pregnant g/f. His personal life might have something to do with it.

If he divorced the wife before he got the g/f pregnant, I don't see the problem.

Tennessee has top notch facilities and it'll be easier to recruit there. Also, his power game is more in the line of the Tennessee tradition. He'll have an unlimited budget, and should be able to hire assistants easily.

Your last sentence nails the most important thing. Tennessee packs the stands with 100,000 plus every weekend (not so much late this season though - I doubt they had 60,000 for the Kentucky game). That translates into a LOT of money.

He won't be out of work for long. Dude almost had freaking Missouri is the national championship game. If true, it is really weird. They had too many injuries this year to force him out after one bad season. It has been rumored he was strongly opposed to Missouri joining the SEC, though. He may see the writing on the wall.

I think Missouri is going to regret the hell out of joining the SEC one these days. TAMU is a great fit. Missouri is just out of place.

I agree, but Tennessee has struggled since they fired Fulmer.

Will Mullen see this as an opportunity to take the next step, though? That's the biggest question... because if he does not produce in 2 years, he will be shown the door, just like Derek Dooley was. They will not be patient with him like we will be.

I thought I read where their athletic department was in excess of $5 million in the red. Could be wrong about that.

he also got a DUI last offseason. not saying it's necessarily a fireable offense in and of itself, but it could be culmination of several things. especially if he has a young preggers chick who happens to have an influential daddy.

Arkansas? Seriously? You have lost your mind. If he left for anywhere else (that's open) it would be Tennessee. He would not even glance Arkansas' direction.
