For real, I think the only SEC school Mullen would leave us for would be Arkansas... but Arkansas may not give Mullen the time of day. I expect there to be a long line of candidates that would have to say no before Mullen gets a call. Tennessee has already expressed interest in Mullen, but I would think he would see that more of a lateral move, if not a step down. People will not be patient with him there and they have less coming back than we do this upcoming year.

I read on another board that he recently got a divorce and supposedly has a young pregnant g/f. His personal life might have something to do with it.
Tennessee has top notch facilities and it'll be easier to recruit there. Also, his power game is more in the line of the Tennessee tradition. He'll have an unlimited budget, and should be able to hire assistants easily.
He won't be out of work for long. Dude almost had freaking Missouri is the national championship game. If true, it is really weird. They had too many injuries this year to force him out after one bad season. It has been rumored he was strongly opposed to Missouri joining the SEC, though. He may see the writing on the wall.

I agree, but Tennessee has struggled since they fired Fulmer.
Will Mullen see this as an opportunity to take the next step, though? That's the biggest question... because if he does not produce in 2 years, he will be shown the door, just like Derek Dooley was. They will not be patient with him like we will be.

he also got a DUI last offseason. not saying it's necessarily a fireable offense in and of itself, but it could be culmination of several things. especially if he has a young preggers chick who happens to have an influential daddy.
Arkansas? Seriously? You have lost your mind. If he left for anywhere else (that's open) it would be Tennessee. He would not even glance Arkansas' direction.
