Pisgah at Brevard

This game is here and both teams roll in looking they are playing their best ball of the year. Brevard fans are saying they feel like a “switch flipped” against West and I would say that Pisgah “flipped the switch” in the 2nd half of the Franklin game, even though it was a loss due to a firsthalf hole partially dug by us, things have been different since that halftime.

I’ll be the first to admit that at the beginning of the season, based on how we looked through non-conference and how Brevard looked in non-conference, that I thought we would have rolled into this matchup just hoping to come out of it respectfully. Brevard’s win over ACR and our loss to Heritage seemed to some degree greatly affect how both would be viewed throughout the season.

We’ve cleaned up some our dumb penalties and miscues that were characteristic of us in the beginning and the team has figured out who they are. Great job coaches! The turnaround and galvanizing of our team has impressed me. I know Coleman is going to be fired up (partially because he always is )and his talented squad of Blue Devils will be too.

I say all that to say that this coming Friday has EVERYTHING you could want for this game, even a good cool evening is forecasted. Go Bears Go!

Pisgah-Brevard will be a great game! If you have kids, come join us in the baseball outfield from 6-6:45 to Trick or Treat. The gate under the home stadium will be open for people to enter/exit. This is definitely going to be a traditional Brevard-pisgah game with a lot at stake and a lot on the line. A Brevard win to outright win the conference and keep the #1 seed and homefield advantage in the playoffs. And a pisgah win for a possible 3way tie of the conference with Franklin and i know pisgah is currently sitting at #3 playoff seeding wise not sure if a win would bump yall to 1 and us to 3 or how would that would play out. Either way there's a possible chance at maybe seeing some 2nd matchups like another tuscola pisgah game big maybe there and another Brevard pisgah game is possible as well if both teams make a deep run judging by this playoff picture i seen

Just a quick glance at scenarios and not plugging things into a spreadsheet, Brevard should be locked into #1 in the West. They have two games playing Friday that will have the most significant impact on their numbers. Their own game and the Reynolds-Roberson game. If Brevard loses and Reynolds loses, Brevard’s RPI would probably find itself in the low .65…. Range. Everyone else on Brevard’s schedule is playing a team that is already on Brevard’s schedule so OWP will be affected very little.

Pisgah, on the other hand, has 4 games that can have the most impact on their schedule. Their own and the Heritage, Swain, and Enka games. Heritage probably wins, Swain could, and Enka most likely loses. Pisgah’s best case scenario probably pushes their RPI into the high .63…. possibly low .64 range (doubtful). I don’t think there is a scenario for us to get enough “help”. A win puts us at #2 and a loss probably slides us into 4 (with a .60 range RPI)with both Maiden and Newton-Conover facing each other this Friday as well.

Hibriten’s RPI will fall some, even with a win, due to West Caldwell’s record.

This semi-lays what could shuffle around this Friday.

Hope you guys are bringing in some more seating for the Pisgah Folks. Looking at google earth it don’t like like you seat many on the visitor side. Beautiful stadium and turf though. I’d love to be able to go but I can’t miss anymore of our games. Waited like 8-9 months for football season to get here and now here we are in the last week of regular season. It totally sucks how fast it’s gone by.
Wish I could get some of those 50/50 tickets!!

Brevard has a decent size visitor’s side. This will definitely be Pisgah’s 2nd largest traveling crowd of the year besides Tuscola. Brevard offers a much better view for a large visiting crowd than Tuscola’s side does so that helps.

I think its safe to say Brevards stadium is one of the bigger stadiums of mountain teams here in the area if both sides are full there's still plenty of room around the fence to stand

Those days the Pisgah-Brevard regular season game was basically the first round of the playoffs because the loser usually went home.

Its gameday and finally here cant wait to go watch this one and I wont lie I know its going to be a slugfest of a game but it would tickle the crap out of me to see a Brevard blowout win tonight ive already caught it all night and morning long from the guys I worked with over at evergreen over the jv game lol
