Thanks for posting scores as you get them! It's much easier to follow things. Also...I'm ready for
Lee basketball but...being delayed by a deep playoff run by the football team is a good reason to be delayed! Should be a great year in 2A again this season. Hopw all is well!

Hey Leemen - always good to see you on here!

Yes a long playoff run always affects basketball season - but to be honest, this is a rarity for Lee - happens not very often.

I'll be curious to see how the team reacts this year after everyone expects a lot from them.

Thanks! I agree with you. This will cause Lee to have to play a lot of games in a shorter period of time. I think Lee and Gate City have to be favorites. I'm also expecting Martinsville and Brunswick to make noise...that's a usual expectation. Do you have any idea on what Madison, Amelia, or Dan River bring back?

I honestly haven't read/heard much about those last 3 teams - just what they had last year, and who's returning.

I know that Jamal Grant is back for Amelia - and Madison returns Gaines Swink and Dre Twyman - I think Dan River lost a lot.

Don't forget to include Radford in the conversation - they moved up this year, and are good pretty much year in and year out.

Good point about Radford...I'd forgotten about that. Should be a fun basketball season! I'm a bit bias lol...but I think Division 2(VHSL) basketball is the most exciting and interesting to follow. A lot of tradition rich schools in D-2. Of course I'm sure the other 5 classes would have their own opinion on that. I'm wondering how good East Rock, Page, Stuarts Draft, and even Wilson will be this season. I think Wilson Memorial got themselves a pretty darn good coach...I have a feeling they will compete. One of those teams that will get better as the season goes and will be a team nobody wants to to face come mid Jan-Feb.

Weird to see Lee in a different district than the Valley but...exciting all the same.

Yea to me Lee will always be a Valley District team - along with Waynesboro, Harrisonburg, Fort, Spotswood and TA.
