How do you justify Greene Central a #6 seed? 9-1, only loss is an away loss to Kinston in the final minute, Kinston is a #1 seed in the 2A east bracket.
2a east is shaping up to be a pathetic bracket. Shelby will roll to that title
9-1 is a beautiful record, but that 1 loss made you second in your conference. Can't expect first place seeding for a second place team. They give the top seeds to conference champions. Then the second place finishers get the next highest seeds, and so on. Don't don't worry. It's not like whoever y'all play will be able to score on you. Your defense is sick this year. Would have been nice to play y'all. I was surprised to see GC off the schedule this season. GC is in the third round at least, easily.
While Shelby appears from all sources to be the overwhelming favorite to win it all, pathetic is a fairly strong word. Were you referring to the 2A East where the teams have an average Simmons rating of 34 or the murderer's row of 2A West where the teams have an average Simmons rating of 37. Just curious.

I honestly hope anyone but Shelby wins. I'm just sick of hearing about how unbeatable they are. They are good. We get it.
In looking at the Nchsaa bracket, I stand corrected. Outside of Shelby and Reidsville, that 2A west bracket is pathetic. 2A east has Kinston, SWE and Northeastern. I think NE is the favorite on that side of the bracket and will face Shelby. Thomasville benefitted from playing in the weakest 2a conference in the state to earn a 2 seed in the west but they aren't good. Reidsville is likely the only team on that side that can stay within 4 touchdowns if Shelby.
In 2A West I will go with Lincolnton making it to final in the West against Shelby. L Town is playing great football right now on both sides of the ball. Could they stay within 3 scores of the mighty Shelby time may tell but don't count L Town out.
IMO, Reidsville and Shelby will be a dog fight if and when they meet. The Rams have pulled it together at the end!
I said before the 2a west is probably the weakest I've ever seen it,9 of the 16 seeds are either 5-6,6-5 and 1 4-6 team...the split in the classifications created this mess
how is that in the NCHSAA perlim brackets Beddingfield get the #5 and Washington the #8 when Washington drew the #1 seed in the 3way tie and has the better record than Beddingfield.

I actually think Lincolnton is a good ball club. I just think from top to bottom the 2A west just ended up being extremely weak this year. Even if it was extremely tough, nobody would beat Shelby.
Look at the bracket objectively and look at it overall not with your teams blinders on. Half the bracket has a losing record with 75% having 3 or more losses. That's not good...at all.
Why is everyone counting Lincolnton out? Yes Shelby is a very good passing football team....but this is football....they can be beat....just ask Crest!
Fasttrackmo - reason is that SWE went to A bracket. They got a 1. Bed beat Wash head-to-head so Bed got a 1 and Wash a 2.
SimmonsRatings - is this how the state deals with this. I know that if two, not three, teams tie and one is big and one is small they both go in as a 1 seed into their perspective bracket. It doesn't say anything about three teams.
I'm guessing then that the draw between the coaches of Washington, SWE, and Beddingfield was in case all three went to the same bracket....and since SWE was taken out of the equation, it was left between Wash and Bedd? If that's the case, then it makes sense. Because I was under the impression that Washington would be ahead of Bedd because they drew the first conference seed and Bedd drew the third.
The 2A west bracket is not that much different than last year. The same teams from last year almost from top to bottom
Carver, Lincolnton, North Rowan, Mt Pleasant , Polk Reidsville, Shelby, etc

I'm a Reidsville guy but this team is not of the same caliber as the last 20 yrs or so...think they will get there again because they are extremely young....Lincolnton is a very good team only losing to Shelby and East Lincoln.....nuff said.....if all works out...Reidsville will host Lincolnton in the 2nd round...they were here 2 yrs ago and the Rams eked out a 13-10 win......................
They lost to South Point not Shelby. Lincolnton is peaking right now.
You said outside of Shelby and Reidsville everyone in the bracket is pathetic. All I'm saying is Lincolnton deserves a little more credit than that kind of disrespect. Not saying we'll beat Shelby, or that we'll even get that far. But I do think we can. But pathetic? Come on, man.
