While we attempt to suck all excitement and atmosphere out of the stadium during this TV timeout"

I know it has been discussed, butthe MooTube use has turned into a liability this year. Why do we not utilize this to keep the crowd and team up during timeouts, reviews, and other stoppage time? I know we need to make some moneyfrom it. Fine. Do we really need to have a cartoon car race, Kiss Cam, Physics of Football (that have not been very interesting lately), Three Card Monte, Dance Cam, Etc? Can someone not put together a bigest hits of the season video with some hard hitting rock or popular rap song in the background? The production guys on TV can do it between comercial breaks as the game is being played. It'slooks like someoneknowswe need to play something to get things going after these lulls, because we usually get 5-10 seconds of Poppa Roach or some other music just before the snap, but why not keep the crowd and team up when we can? I know complaints are easy after a loss. Not saying this would have changed the outcome of the game, and I was fairly impressed with the crowds ability to keep involved and loud for an early start. However, it was almost like the crowd was into the game inspite of the MooTube.

continue to see the race for awhile like it or not. I tend to agree on the others, Davis Wade on gameday is not conducive to me showing much interest in ads for prostate cancer and furniture

Something changed from last year to this year with the way the gameday is being presented....besides the wins.

I love the ribbon boards, video board (that 1/4 of the stadium can't see) and the other enhancements we have been able to make to the stadium over the years. I don't mind doing what it takes to pay the bills, but I do have a problem when those things start taking away from the atmosphere of the game. I think we have crossed that line. </p>

And by that I mean it sounds like we're copying the most annoying aspect of an NFL game.

Idiots. It's just that the novelty has worn off. Nothing has changed. I love how some of just say...."I don't know what it is, but something's changed! LOLOLZZZZ" without as much as even attempting to use a brain cell to figure out why.<div>
</div><div>The jumbotron is actually what helps make MSU a big time atmosphere. God knows we have to make up for the 40,000 seats we don't have, compared to other teams. When the wins comes, I highly suspect the stadium atmosphere exponentially increases.</div>

Jumbo Tron ads are pathetic. On average after our huge defensive stops they would play in about 3-4 advertisements. Most of them featuring our head coach, which by the way we have whored out to every business in the Golden Triangle.

Bring back the third down Bell Tolls from Metallica.

Bring back the rap and blair it till the Blue Hairs Cry.

Hell our band got dominated by USC yesterday. I did like how our band brought over a small group to play on the West Side in the fourth quarter.

All and all yesterday I gave the atmosphere a 4 out of 10. If we won it maybe would have gotten a 5.

Scott is good to notice details like this, and I feel sure he will take note.

I never liked it because it doesn't let you have a single quiet moment. It's true that pro games are that way too. I do like a prompt replay and good stat information. Highlights from other big games would be cool. Maybe we don't have to sell every ad space that can be sold. Maybe we should raise the price and cut the available minutes.

The very thing that everyone on this thread is complaining about is the very reason our band can't play during timeouts. These sponsorships pay a lot of money to have their ****** commercials played on the video board during timeouts and they have priority over the band playing "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" or "Hail State" during a timeout. The directors wear a headset and the men in the central office tell them when they can and can't play. So to add a little light to the subject, that's why our band seemed to get "dominated." <div>
</div><div>Go to Kentucky or Arkansas and they will play every chance they can. </div>

Last year - they played more hip hop during breaks and timeouts. We had 60 year olds dancing in the aisles even to hip hop. Now it's commercials, which I get they have to pay the bills but it's different. The game yesterday was a prime example. They play about 4 notes of the Ying Yang Twins....then a commercial comes on.

It's a complete change from last year. During last season, we were playing Hip Hop during every chance we had to keep the crowd energized. I counted yesterday, and between the third and fourth quarters we showed 4 commercials.

We have changed from playing music to keep the crowd energized during the breaks to only playing to re-energize the crowd right before the play begins. There were lots of fans around me talking about it yesterday, especially in the fourth quarter when we really needed to be creating that home field advantage.

There were still alot of commercials which I completely understand but not as many as there are this year. It's almost constant commercials.

If so, remember the Arkansas game when they played "Welcome to the Jungle" and the wholestadium rang their cowbells during an entire timeout. It... was... awesome. I get chills just thinking about it now.

This year we'll have a damn Drake waterfowl clothes commercial on.</p>

I agree with what everybody said about the commercials taking up way too much time that should be used to keep the crowd into it. In the fourth quarter on Saturday though, I counted threebreaks in the game(either TV timeouts or regular timeouts) where we played about 5-10 seconds each of Metallica, "We Ready", and "Get On My Level" coming out of the timeouts to get the crowd up and loud. The problem with these, however, is that we were on offense each time. So essentially, we play enough music for the crowd to get back loud, then everybody has to shut up because we're trying to run plays. Then there's thefact that we didn't get any of that same music when we were on defense, and instead got to hear the SC band play whatever the hell they were playing. And couple that with the fact that the lower rows of my section had maybe 4 people standing up and making noise when we needed it, and the atmosphere Saturday was very well below where we've seen it at (ie Arkansas last year).</p>
