Please don't lose the $5 bits of Broken Chair Trophy! Unlike the other recent "Corporate" Trophies that have been created lately, came about somewhat naturally. It has a fun backstory.

I want the trophy to keep going, but this is concerning...

"Thumbs down to the swift demise of the $5 Bits of Broken Chair trophy. Neither Nebraska nor Minnesota wants anything to do with it. So, after two years, it's gone for good. "It was just a social-media thing," a Minnesota athletics official told Adam Furley of 93.7 FM "The Ticket" in Lincoln. It didn't help that the trophy was tied to the Twitter parody account @FauxPelini."

Thankfully the chair has avoided any Dilly Bar stains (insert picture of Minnesota head coach eating ice cream on the sidelines during games...).

If this trophy is forgotten, I'd like it to be because we dominate the series, like happened with the "Victory Bell" trophy we had with Missouri. People forgot it even existed because we won every game with them from 1979-2002. It was rediscovered and traded for the last several years of the series, and of course we kept it since we won the last game we played in 2010.
I'd like this trophy to keep going, partially because it has a connection with Sam Foltz. He was one of the few players last year to know it existed, and the only player I've seen a picture of actually holding the trophy.

I think as long as fans and players still think it's important, that's what matters. Like Truehuskerfan said, the series needs to stay competitive for that to happen. I don't like the idea of some athletic department official claiming for it to be dead, just like I don't like the corporate trophies we have with Iowa and Wisconsin.

But to paraphrase Ivan Drago... If it dies, it dies.
