I think next week will give us a a somewhat real idea of where this team is. Virginia Tech is ranked near RU in sagarin and cbs sports line poll. I think RU measures up well. Would love the W after all those beatdowns and 2012.
Wisconsin-Iowa-Michigan St-Maryland can be competitive games, and dare I say Ohio st. (expect blow out, but have not been overly impressed with them-maybe they're keeping a closed playbook). The defense seems well if it holds up. The offense has to avoid those consecutive series without points or at least a dramatic shift in field position. The team looks competent. I think this will be an interesting season a la 2005. Big thumbs up for tonight-Good job KNIGHTS! (LOVE THE BLACK UNIFORMS)

So far from what I've seen Penn st and Michigan are the horses this year...but you never know.

Virginia Tech rushed for a total of 11 yds. and gave up 3 sacks. I have confidence Rutger D can make VT a one-dimensional offense.
Nice - wanted to watch that game this afternoon but it was delayed 5 hours 😲😵

Weather delays messed up viewing yesterday so 2nd half of their game got shipped somewhere that wasn’t on broadcasts (maybe online) but they didn’t look that good to me.

Purdue went out to a 17-0 lead and VT came back and scored the next 17. One TD aided by an ill advised 4th down attempt in their own territory (that seemed to be a thing yesterday lol Oregon/TT).

I didn’t see the second half but just one TD for Purdue and nothing for VT.

They don’t look like an offense that can sustain drives. It might not be like NW and Temple but I’d still expect a win.

We did some good things. Here are a few of my thoughts.

1. We need to improve our LT play vs the speed rush. We got beat badly 2-3 times there.

2. Jackson is the WR we have needed for a while. He can beat man press in the single coverage. That forced temple into 2 high and 4 high looks. Dremel is a nice compliment to him underneath. They run good combo routes together.

3. Washington is inconsistent.

4. Long will be back soon and we need him or Washington to step up for this offense to be elite.

5. Our TEs have forced LBs to cover them, but they are not getting open in the middle of the field yet.

6. GW impresses me. He is close to being special.

7. Defense is good but Jennings has to get better. Our LBs still do not do a great job of getting eyes outside in on slants. We gave up the TD and should not have. It was set up to be an INT.

8. Kicking game is elite.

9. We are starting to run the read option very, very well.

10. Temple's OC was terrible.

11. Temple's STC was terrible.

You really think this offense can be elite ?
I need to see us in full playbook. IF one of the TEs can occupy a safety in the passing game OR another WR can prove a threat in the vertical game, yes I do believe so. This will force teams to have 6 in the box against us.

If teams have to play us with 2 high safeties we can keep them honesty running the bakk.

Where was Strong yesterday?? I think he can be our other WR who can step up
Was thinking the same, esp after I saw Long in the injury report.

It was like the guy entered the witness protection program. Unless…..dare I ask if he somehow is in Schiano’s Dog House

He is used for specific situations. He needs to develop his top end speed a bit more.

And our best WR is still caught up in the Transfer waiver process.
This group could be the surprise unit of the team this season.
