Several State titles. That Caddy was so green, you could see it coming for miles, and you
Knew who it was, Coach Cummins. That car was all over SWVA, and probably most of
The state.
A player by the name of McFall was their Tailback in those days. He started for about
3 years, and set several records for rushing at that time, even though he didn't play the
Entire game. Coach Cummins became a legend in the coal fields. What ever Coach
Cummins wanted, Coach Cummins Got. Coal was king in those days, money for the
Football teams was not a factor, and a lot of success was built on coal money, and with
Coal miners son's.......a tough group to deal with on Friday nights. There was a lot of
People who did not think about working the " hoot owl " shift in those days.
