went back and watched the 1st half gamefilm that van does. UK actually played phenomenal defense and schemed really, really well for UT. If UK schemes and executes like that all year, it is a different season.

I was only referring to offense doing the opposite. Defense has kept us competitive in most games, at least until it was clear the offense wasn't going to put points up for us.

Just clarifying

Good for us. We didn't just become independent 23 years before another country invaded to conquer us and didn't have to transition from a state-run economy. Keep trying to make it sound so simple. It fits.
Elaine, how did you become such a Zelensky apologist finding excuses to eliminate elections? This is 2025, the argument that Ukraine cannot pull of an election during a war is nothing more than pure effort to support Zelensky’s power grab. Are you a Biden?

I read an interesting article about why home prices are rising but also not. They studied home prices on a per sq foot basis, and today's homes are essentially the same as they were in the post war boom in the 50's They contend that municipalities started restrictive zoning to actually PREVENT small, affordable, single family home construction, in favor of ever larger McMansions, primarily as a source of tax revenue. And that that, more than anything has priced homes, in a lot of areas, out of the budget of a lot of folks. Just thought that was interesting. I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense.

I'm not wondering if it's not a good idea for the government to formulate a plan to provide low-interest building loans, rather than what they're doing now, underwriting mortgages on existing homes for qualifying folks, with the aim of building, as I said, reasonable single family houses. They might have to apply some pressure/provide incentives to get local municipalities to cooperate re: zoning though. It would not only help home prices, but also create countless construction jobs.

That sounds good, but cleared five acre lots in Jessamine County (as an example) are somewhere between 175-250k right now without housing. Convenient location, undeveloped, approx 1/8th acre lot in Lexington - $210k. Construction costs estimated between $125-200 per square ft.

Putting an 1100 sq ft, vinyl sided SFR home or townhouse on that Lexington lot would probably cost well above $325k. That's not an affordable starter home for most people. How do we put that genie back in the bottle?

Not sure how true this is, I copied to post..

“I didn’t pull the trigger, but I know who did!” Tyler Robinson breaks the silence in court — And what he says in the middle of the trial changes the entire Charlie Kirk case!
In a chilling moment that freezes the courtroom, Tyler Robinson suddenly rises from his chair, his voice trembling but fierce: “I didn’t pull the trigger… but I know who did. And it’s time for the truth to come out.”
Robinson’s bloodshot, defiant eyes are fixed on the camera as he speaks. His confession isn’t just an emotional outburst — it’s an explosion. He begins to describe shady encounters, veiled threats, and a chain of command that stretches far beyond him. “They promised to protect me,” he says hoarsely, “but when things go wrong, they need someone to take responsibility.”
Robinson’s violent outburst doesn’t just turn the case upside down; it blows it apart. For the first time, the world glimpses a hidden web of deception—and the chilling possibility that the real killer has been hiding right in front of them all along.

He didn’t openly admit that they send the missiles from Gaza at all. He said it was a creative idea.

of Course if Israel did that it would be illegal, immoral and disgusting.

But the headline and the actual words dont match.

If we somehow still think that those who desire money and power and to stay in the money and in power wouldn't pose as the enemy to create the need for retaliation, we're either completely clueless about history or willingly don't want to see it. Century upon century of this stuff and somehow some people think we've magically overcome thousands of years of greed as a species...?

Whether the words match is not the point. If we're not open to consider or not allowed to consider that possibility, then we aren't fit to govern ourselves.

The History Clown presents:

The British didn't invade us re: The War of 1812

Those three dumbasses, William Henry Harrison, Henry Clay, and James Madison declared war on THEM, because they wouldn't stop dicking around with our shipping (and impressing our sailors) We declared war w/o telling anybody, and sent a bunch of over the hill, alcoholic, cowardly generals and rag-tag soldiers north to invade British North America (Canada) And all of them either got their asses handed to them, ended up fighting each OTHER, or just giving up and coming back. LOL

We had pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that we lost, and were going to sign away western territories (most of the upper mid-west) until Thomas Macdonough kicked the British Navy's *** at Lake Champlain. Followed by fending them off/holding Ft McHenry which turned it. The terms were changed, we kept Michigan and that was it.

Unfortunately nobody told Jackson (and the British Forces that were headed to New Orleans) that it was over, and so all of those Brits died for nothing.

It's remarkable how well our little Navy did against the most powerful one on Earth. Mainly because we had a bunch insane, don't give two ****s guys commanding them. Read about the Battle of Lake Erie and you'll see what I mean.

The entire war was reminiscent of Kentucky Football.

Oh yeah, Canadians still think they won.

Also, that POS Madison ran away like a b*tch, leaving his wife Dolly behind to pack up the White House/do the work and she barely got out of there before the Brits burned DC down. He was big on writing and noble ideas, not so big on living them.
I defer to the firsthand observations of VH.

Hoops is a self-profiting enterprise. It better NOT spend football money.

Basketball has been like PP. It says it doesn't use govt funds for abortions, but instead pulls it from the general fund and donations, as if the latter covers all that they spend on abortions.

The basketball program doesn't always take money directly from football. They just haven't contributed jack squat of their money towards the other sports programs or athletics in general. Football pays all of the rest and gets the leftovers, when it doesn't have to give extra for basketball sometimes, too. So they are and have been paying basketball's fair share for longer than I've been around.

She's being scapegoated for the true villians - city manager appointed by woke city council & a woke mayor. That said, JD's brother has a snowball's chance of being elected mayor. Doubt she's a great chief but she's far from the biggest problem that woke city would never fix.

Not apologizing, so you're making unfounded claim - per typical. Your assumption about non-elections is that Ukraine had an established stable democracy before this all started. It was a work in (slow?) progress before this crap happened. Call it what you want, but of course I support Z over Putin. Not at all hard.

I think you post just so your buddy Joe King can give you another "like" that you crave so much. Keep going so you can get some more to satisfy your needs. Keep it up, Joe.
