Hell, Ford doesn’t even make sedans anymore. Not just because their quality isn’t there, but because they can put all their focus into producing larger (and more desired) vehicles that they can charge more for.
Wrong. Its because they govt changed fuel efficiency standards

government fuel efficiency rules, specifically CAFE standards, inadvertently encouraged more SUVs by creating a loophole for "light trucks," allowing automakers to market larger, less-efficient SUVs and pickups with less stringent MPG requirements than cars, a trend that exploded in the 90s and continues today, complicating emission reduction despite overall efficiency gains.

Maybe read every once in awhile. Its your typical all govt does is create unintended consequences

Didn't we run on fixing this? This is just an extension of Dem Party stuff. We have control to pass whatever we want, to stop whatever we wanted yet this is the results after a year.

And Tim Pool (Beanie Shapiro) is FOS. Timmie Smollett. Another paid shill who crashes out cause of his declining ratings.

"Yes, according to a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) indictment unsealed in September 2024, Tim Pool was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by a Tennessee-based media company, Tenet Media, which was covertly funded by Russian state media operatives. The scheme funneled nearly $10 million from RT (Russia Today) employees to produce and distribute English-language videos amplifying U.S. domestic divisions—content that aligned with Kremlin interests, such as skepticism toward U.S. aid to Ukraine, anti-immigration rhetoric, and criticism of Western foreign policy. This was part of a broader Russian influence operation targeting the 2024 U.S. presidential election."

Jesus...this is some BlueAnon kind of crazy stuff.

How does a city react to the violent murders of two women riding light rail trains in Charlotte?

Maybe spend money to hire more law enforcement to patrol the trains and improve saftey?

Of course not because Charlotte is a city run by democrats. Instead you pay 3.4 million dollars to a PR firm to convince citizens their lives aren't at risk when they step foot on these trains. Okay libs, please defend this one.

Oh look everybody!! The Mayor of Charlotte NC has hired a Public Relations Firm for 3.4 Million dollars from Austin Texas to handle the problem of folks being murdered on the Charlotte Commuter Train system.

Of course with any government contract there was an RFP (Request for Proposal) put out by the Mayor for competitive bid ..Right?!

So local firms in Charlotte and NC got a chance..right?!? Oh there was no real local RFP put out .. wow!! That’s required by law isn’t it?!? Well never mind .. this is an emergency!!!

The PR firm has a great reputation.. they helped the Beto O’Roak Campaign in Texas (you know how that turned out) .. and they’ve contributed to ACTBLUE.. and several other Democratic candidates.

And of course it’s a native LA ..female owned PR firm. What could possibly go wrong with this… Typical of an incompetent and morally broke City Government..

Shame on you Mayor.. shame!!

False. Housing/automobiles/etc skyrocketed due to American consumption/greed/unrelenting desire for money and power and status.
Socialist make the dumbest arguments. A lack of housing has made housing skyrocket. Cars have gone up but they are better made and last a lot longer than they used too. Hard work isn't greed. You act like you should make maximum pay but companies should charge minimum prices and investors shouldnt receive any return on their investment.

Haven’t said much about rest of world. Don’t need to. American consumption has divided us plenty. Look how angry you all are that someone calls it like it is. Can’t even handle and a different opinion. Unhealthy habits and lifestyles are detrimental to society. Not up for debate.
LOL. Its not the difference of opinion, its the idiotic opinion people are laughing at. Typical socialist.

Millions of people consuming things that aren’t necessary drives up demand, and thus cost. It ain’t rocket science.
Good thing about America is we have choices where we want to spend our money. Capitalism obvious works. Even the poorest are better off than 90% of the other people in the world. Go see what its like in your socialist Eden's . Venezuela and Cuba. They just try to make enough money to buy food.

There is a middle ground here, and I kind of see what smh is getting at. Poor financial decisions by those that can least afford it DOES promote, for instance, car manufacturers to build more and more extravagant vehicles, to the exclusion of cheap and practical choices for folks that just want cheap transportation. Just walk through a dealership and you'll see that that is true.
Some of that price increase you see in the improvement and reliability of vehicles which last much longer. Government regulations are also a big reason for the price increases. I've read its up to $11,000 per vehicle.

It is not just about those extremes; that's not all socialism does, can do, will do.

Like it always used to really chap the arse of this complete loser (communist/socialist) who posted here religiously (Marxism was his relgion, he'll never forsake it). He absolutely loathed that I, as a European_american as it were, loved this country: an immigrant who genuinely loved the country he hated as a native.

You people (Americans) have no idea how good you have it. Careful what you wish for.

- Republicans better figure out how to get higher turnout in non Trump elections.

- Have said many times and will continue to say that it’s clear as day that in time Europe will be begging the US to come and save them again.

- Dems playbook 101. Make a mess out of something and then campaign on how they will fix it. Incredible people will believe they have the fix for the economic mess they created with their outlandish gov spending bills.

- Pete/Trump are not stupid. They know the second they give Dems full intel on their strategy for dealing with Venezuela and drug cartels the Dems will make sure they do everything possible to sabotage it. There was a reason the kept the attack on Iran super confidential.

Just a guy who rarely posts here. I am on another board that is not ON3 that evolved from Rivals and also post on the ON3 Clemson poli board.

I am a UT fan and we don't have a free political board anymore.

Never was a fan of MTG. Next man/woman up. Need them to vote with MAGA. That is all.

I am a Reaganite. Not a neocon or a RINO but also not fully a MAGA populist.

I am pro Israel and Ukraine. All for whacking Venezuela and their drug boats. All for calling out the EU for their violations of free speech. All for them paying more into NATO. All for tariffs on Chyyynahhh. All for cutting taxes and regulations. All for deporting every illegal we can. I am all for breaking up big gubment and making it small and constitutional again. Just sell Z the tomahawks and other high tech weapons and let him blast Putin back to the stone age.

My vote for Trump was purely transactional. He is a boor. But, I am mostly pleased with his job and do not regret my vote.

You seem like a good dude, except for that 'UT fan' stuff.

Welcome my friend.

However, the desire to have unnecessarily gigantic single family homes drives up the cost of all the materials used to build all houses/buildings. And labor costs, which is passed on to all consumers. It’s a vicious cycle driven by consumers, and producers/providers of said products/sevices.

You don't get to decide what is necessary. In all of your examples, you are putting a restriction on what people need or even desire. Having/wanting nice/big/extravagant isn't a problem until it begins to consume one's lifestyle. All of your examples are poorly defined, and even reek of socialism.

If I make a million dollars, why should I be forced to limit my buying power to equal that of someone making half of that.

Your entire thought process is retarded.

I think he's made a big mistake claiming that prices are lower (Save me the gas &e gas routine.). In general they're not. Inflation much lower, but he doesn't know how to explain that as easily as saying price are lower.

In general, they are, and why eliminate gas? That is real money that adds up because it is a regular expense. Sure, your power drill may cost more this year but how many are you buying over the next 6 months? And it has been explained over and over about how certain costs will not go down until next year. Tariffs are working.

So I was unaware of this and verified it though because it blew my mind.

The leftist who followed Charlie Kirk around on his tour and then asked the question when Charlie was killed—- is the son of a Hollywood producer who coincidentally produces the Jimmy Kimmel Show.

He’s also on camera mentioning MIC (notorious false flag group) which is very weird.

No wonder people don’t buy into the government narrative.

And he was super fidgety

I didn't eliminate gas. Yes, it's down but to cite it only obscures that prices, in general, aren't down. Insurances, cars, house prices are all way up. We raised rents on our units over 10% in the last year before we recently sold them. Farmers wouldn't need $12B in subsidies if the prices they were charging weren't too high for customers. Why does he want to give $2K/person from tariffs if those weren't adding to inflation? Look at the near 3% inflation (CPI). If prices were down, we'd have had deflation. Trump has fallen into a trap by singing that prices would be & are lower.

Yep, the mayoral race was an anomaly due to the non-POTUS cycle and the liberal/socialist hot spots that have popped up.
2026 elections are in a non-POTUS cycle. Bet you'll be real happy when Dims take the House. Clearly Trump is scared with all the redistricting he's pushed.

Societal Cucks is a good name for some of these leftist dudes.

Also, **** goes down hill when you have people that wear hair like that dude.

The kicker to all of this is that it is obviously crazy. You literally have to be insane to buy into what they are selling (if they are even selling anything...I can't tell for certain what they are doing, other than trying to persuade the masses that sanity is bad, reason is bad, information is bad, etc.)

Probably just one reason why they took down the camera behind and above Charlie Kirk and why we still haven't seen the footage.

If anyone has been shopping for tools this year, they know prices are similar to pre-pandemic on most tools. People stopped buying them at the inflated prices, so they've been brought lower. That's the way it needs to be done. It's the only leverage we have right now.

Gas is cheaper and has been for some time. Sole groceries are higher. Some didn't go up nearly as much nor as fast.

Lumber was up massively during the plandemic because supply side was down. That helped drive prices up in the real estate market. It has come back down quote a bit, but real estate prices haven't followed ... yet.
