$2K is a drop in the bucket, and it isn't a stimulus check. Regardless...."waste" is a choice and still goes back into the economy.

People need to get over the "pay down the debt" mentality. It isn't happening in our lifetimes.

It definitely wont happen if we just give out checks when we have a surplus. I understand why he's doing it, it just isnt the right path.

If he was going to do anything that route, at least give a one time tax credit to any taxpayer that doesn't also get an eic. That still isnt as good as paying down debt, but at least its better than just handing out cash, much of which goes to fraud.

"Voters struggled to answer why they were happy about Mamdani’s victory and could not explain what his policies were while they were questioned by journalist Cam Higby. Not a single Mamdani voter could explain how the upcoming mayor will be able to pay for his programs, such as free buses and government-run grocery stores."

"“Um, I don’t really know. I just do,” one girl said. “Yeah, because I keep seeing all of these like cute TikTok’s of him like partying and clubbing and honestly he’s like, one for the people, you know.”"

Absolutely WILD, if true. Surprised this hasn’t been discussed more in here.

Now maybe they’ll find the good folks who erected the guillotine next.

Not gonna lie….as someone who has wanted Stoops gone, I am really happy for him righting the ship (or at least turning it away from the iceberg). He didn’t/doesn’t deserve to go out with a whimper.

And at this point, I hope he finds a way to win a few more, make a bowl, and keep his job. Even If he decides to go elsewhere, tip of the cap to him. This team and staff could’ve straight up quit. They didn’t.
I've said all along, I hope Stoops can get us to a bowl game and hopefully somebody else takes a flyer on him. Colorado St. would be a good fit allowing him to be closer to his kids. JMO. I don't think he needs to go out on a sour note and hope that we can bring him back in a couple of years an honor him for what he did accomplish here. But i still think it's time for an amicable divorce.

We can use it .. my wife's aunt is in assisted living, on SS disability getting 900 a month .. state of tennesseee helping .. her place which we have to contribute $100 a month is closing or going to private pay .. the next cheapest place will require us to pay $500 monthly out of our pocket .. 2K for her and me and my wife will cover one year for us .. so bring it on

I have to say, coach or no coach, that was a beat down we put on the gators. Whatever it takes to keep Boley and the running backs that aren't going to be involved in a criminal trial next year, i am all for. Also, gonna need some Olinemen for the 26 season.
Even after a horrible season last year good Lineman came to KY when the NIL $ was right. Whoever the coach is next season (likely Stoops) they will get good replacements mixed in with the few HS guys they have now. With Boley emerging they may spend even more to get higher level guys.

Since they're still working in NYC, they're still owe the same income taxes to them, right? If that's true, living there & avoiding the commute might still be the better deal. And NYC housing prices may drop with many moving to CT.

Hmm id have to look at that. I think more importantly is people just want to take their assets (real estate mostly) and get out while they can. And also get away from a city thats trying to go socialist/be a hot bed for incoming muslims. I think if they move to CT but work in NYC, they'll deal with whatever taxes that may be.

Hochul is already telling NYers that we can't do free buses, would cost something like $10billion. I forget if the link was posted here or somewhere else. But hes not gonna be able to get an ounce done of what he planned for. He's in over his head. This could pave the way for a more moderate NY mayor next go around, but again, the hope here is that we limit the influx of Muslims, and therefore Muslim votes.

a lot of federal workers have been working without a paycheck for over a month now. That kind of “leverage” really sucks.
Communists are willing to seize property and shoot people if they feel the need.

Nobody should be surprised that they’re willing to screw over a bunch of plebes in order to advance their agenda.

Never, ever, ever concede your right to own guns. It’s all that’s keeping them in check IMO.

Your last sentence is precisely why he lied and scammed his way into the Mayors office. he knows damn good and well none of that will get passed, but it suckered all of the liberal women, illegals, youngsters and anyone who hasn't lived in NY longer than 5 years into voting for his nonsense. It was all a ruse, He's in bed with terrorists and Islamists using him to enact a new kind of jihad. Pay close attention to who is primary commissioner and agency appointments will be. How long before NYC has a Muslim police chief, Fire Chief, and a whole other slew of cabinet appointments he's able to make.

Realtor.com showing a 37% increase in Manhattanites looking to get out since Mamdani won.
He’s just going to be like another Obama- not actual crazy Islam. He will just do whatever Soros and his masters want.

Any real estate that is left will be bought up bg Blackrock, I’m sure.

Good question

  • NYC Residents: Residents of New York City must pay the NYC personal income tax (sometimes referred to as an occupational tax or city tax) on all of their income, regardless of where it is earned. The rates range from approximately 3.078% to 3.876%.
  • Non-Residents Working in NYC: Non-residents who work in NYC are generally not liable for the NYC personal income tax. They are subject only to New York State income tax on the income sourced to New York (i.e., earned from work physically performed within the state).
The overall tax burden for an NYC resident is therefore higher because they pay both the New York State income tax and the additional NYC local income tax, while non-residents only pay the state tax on their NY-sourced income.

Generally the people who need the 2k the most are the ones qualified for the EIC.

Exactly. If they qualify for the eic, means they are paying in the least or not paying at all. This would prevent the money mostly going to people who already get a windfall via "paying" taxes ie filing a return.

Of course anyone above that, it wont really move the needle.

So why do it at all? Trying to bribe people with handouts already failed during covid. Plus you can never out give a Democrat.

Better move by far would be to pay down debt.

This is for Marley in particular. Partial article on who benefits from today's attempts to induce widespread anarchy. With half a brain, you know.

"Why anarchy and destruction of social order? Always ask: Who benefits? The breaking down of society is a means to an end—the long game of political control. Citizens scream, “Save me!” This isn’t new. The Reichstag fire. Food shortages driving a Bolshevik uprising. Pandemic riots. Anarchy works. I have no love for czars, but control often passes to political systems that are much worse. Socialism. Communism. Authoritarian control. Only the new rulers are better off."

"Today undereducated (and economically illiterate) youths, along with a quieter illegal-immigrant population, are complaining about no future. Will socialists and anarchy save them? Hardly. It wasn’t anarchists that ended the ’70s malaise. It was a different type of voter-frustration regime change that upended the status quo: free-marketers like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. Constructionists, not anarchists.

Still, disorder sells. I’ve noticed the New York Times now labels the 2020 George Floyd riots as “broadly peaceful protests” because CNN’s “mostly peaceful protests” was ridiculed so badly. Anarchy ruled in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in 2020 and in the smelly Occupy Wall Street encampments of 2011. Add to the list the Jan. 6, 2021, mouth breathers who stormed the Capitol."

"Now New York, Chicago, Portland and gerrymandered California are headed in that direction. Statists and soft-on-crime weak-knees enable anarchy. Like Orwellian newspeak, they instill nonsense like pregnant men and an existential climate apocalypse until even Bill Gates calls bull hockey.

Open borders and sanctuary cities create more anarchy. Anarchists are antieducation. Antigrowth. Antiprogress. Anticapitalist. Bring on a new social order, it takes a village, we’ll make the decisions, not you. Trump tariff chaos has a whiff of this. Maybe it’s why the left hates him so much—he’s executing their game plan better than they are.

It feels like the desired endgame is an overthrow of existing regimes for a more squishy communal paradise. That’s been tried, and instead autocrats take over and crush dissent, boots on throats."

This a bunch of gibberish and rubbish.

Great PR move. All the majority of people are hearing is tariffs are bad. A dividend would be tangible proof of the opposite.

Not sure if true, copied from another site.

Liberals are organizing to STORM congressional offices in Washington, D.C. on November 20th to demand President Trump’s impeachment.
One of the organizers laid it out clearly in a livestream:
“It’s time to remove the regime. We have to remove him from power… The way we take him out of power is the people sitting in those offices on Capitol Hill say enough is enough and push forth articles of impeachment.”
They’re calling the event the “Remove the Regime Rally,” a three-day mobilization planned for November 20–22, with crowds expected to fill the streets around the Capitol.
“We are going to come with big numbers and go up onto Capitol Hill and make our voices heard… We are going to peaceably go into these offices and demand that they support articles of impeachment.”
The man even hinted at escalating tactics:
“If they don’t got the balls enough to impeach him, we will take their job and do it for them with the next crew we bring in… We need progressive Democrats with balls enough to stand up.”
He closed his rant by urging influencers and activists nationwide to travel to D.C. and pressure lawmakers directly.
In short:
🔺
Left-wing activists are mobilizing
🔺
They plan to occupy congressional offices
🔺
Their goal: force impeachment and “remove the regime”
It’s shaping up to be a volatile scene in Washington — and law enforcement will need to keep a close watch to ensure it doesn’t spiral out of control.

This type of stuff is not helpful of their cause at all. Of course, there's no actual desire to try and win on policy. It's about chaos.

We are never going to be normal again.
