Polk has turned his final season into a circus.

I can't imagine another coach in the country in any sport walking off the field and hiding in the dugout (or pressbox or what have you).

I totally agree and I also found it funny that he just said "forget it, I'll let Raffo take the heckling".

It seems to me with each passing event that he's getting closer and closer to his Woody Hayes moment. Not sure what it'll be, but I'm half expecting something really crazy to happen over the last 4 weeks of your season.

Just when you think he can't possibly top himself he goes and does just that. He complains about the fans after game 1. Ok, that was stupid, but whatever. Then he not only complains but runs and hides from the fans while leaving his boy out there to handle it. You have to worry about escalation. What is left for him to do?

Dear Opponents:

Would you be so kind as to box up your parting gifts for this grand old man of SEC lore and mail them to the Bryan Building? The receipt of your parting gifts may be the only thing keeping him from simply walking away completely. If you could just mail them in, then perhaps we can end this pathetic chapter in MState history immediately.

Sincerely,
Oppressed Fans of MState Baseball

It really is sad, because Polk has obviously done many great things at MSU in his past, but the way he's going out (the losing, the stumping for Raffo, the antics: thrown out of 3 games in a row, complaining about hecklers, etc.), all of that is tarnishing the way he'll be remembered.

so it's been pretty easy to tune out of MSU baseball this year. However, it has to be hard for big-time baseball fans to swallow -- I know I couldn't just turn off being a MSU football fan if the same thing were happening there (see 2003).

The only thing I can say is it will be over soon and this summer we will have a new coach with a new attitude. I think Polk has virtually sabotaged any chance Raffo had at the job.
