I mean it's gotta be the team that lost it's 'missing piece' to the super bowl for potentially the whole season. Giants can recover 1 game - Jets welcome back to life with Zach Wilson!

As for the question at hand there’s no question it’s the jets..

All off-season all anyone talked about was AR to the jets. Hard knocks, all the interviews, run out of the tunnel with the American flag on 9/11 and BAM!

Rogers signed a $75 million full guarantee over this year and next, assuming it’s the Achilles the Jets have to both pay him, and likely never see him take another snap. (no chance of a 40 year old coming back from an Achilles)

The Jets situation is worse because the rest of the team looks good enough that they were going to be a contender with average QB play, or even a declining because of age Rodgers. Instead, they are left with Zac Wilson, who has to improve a ton to get to average.

They have to pick up another serviceable QB somehow.

At the end of the day the Giants loss (as bad as it was) was just one loss. They could potentially bounce back

The jets?

Rutgers could be the big winner. With the pro teams done, RU needs to capitalize

No way! And it’s not even close.
Agree don't see how people are voting for the Giants in this. Before the 1st game a realistic best case for the Jets was the Super Bowl. Not so much with Wilson at QB

Before their 1st game realistic aspirations for the Giants was to get 3rd in division then make a run in the playoffs. That is still on the table.

Jets hands down. Never want to lose your starting QB in the NFL, especially five minutes into the season.

A blowout loss opener to the Cowboys with everyone healthy is special. What a miserable unwatchable game. Giants should have made counseling services available to diehard fans. I'm not even a big fan and it bummed me out. The Jets found a way to friggin win without Rogers, which is what they always knew they had to do soon anyway. I only heard parts on the radio. Announcer lost his mind on the winning play. good stuff.

LOL...Jets Fans think they're gonna win the SB EVERY year.
I'm hardly a Giants fan these days but I told my Die Hard Jets fan brother Saturday night at tailgate.." Don't get you're hopes up again. You know he's not the answer and you're winning the SB" (took all of 5 mins lol)

Exactly. Since the OQ was about LAST WEEK and not the season. Jets won with their former star starting QB and beat the Bills from their division. That's hopeful.

A lot more people than just Jets fans thought they could make a SB run. Entering the season the Jets were a consensus top 10 team. They have the best or 2nd best D in the league and good talent at the skill positions. The whole getting Rogers thing at his age was to make a SB run. Losing the starter (who is miles better than the backup) at the most important position in the NFL for a season is way worse than losing one game.

That’s a dumb comment. Jets fans feel they are cursed and expect bad things to happen, except for the rare occasions when the team actually is pretty good and they get suckered into believing things are different. There hasn’t been as much talk of the Jets actually being a contender for over 10 years (since they made two straight championship games).

It has to be the Jets.

As miserable as the Giants looked on Sunday night, they were a home underdog and could have easily still been 0-1 had they played well. I'm not panicking with them just yet, despite that total systems failure.

The Jets overcame a season's worth of adversity in 1 game last night to win a game against a division rival. That said, they're still faced with the reality of walking into that building today with Zach Wilson as their QB behind that dreadful OL.

Oh yeah, if it’s the achilles (and it sounds like it is) it’s off to the lumberyard for Rodgers. RIP Jets.

I am neither a Giants nor Jets fan: for me this weekend was worse for the Giants. The Jets proved they can win without Rodgers (I thought him not playing until the last preseason game was not a good idea.), so they can embrace that and grow with it whether they get him back or not.

You don’t know much about football if you can make that comment and you aren’t just trolling.

Zac Wilson, Sam Darnold, Ryan Fitzpatrick as QBs. Saleh, Adam Gase, Todd Bowles as coaches.

That’s the Jets since 2015. No Jet fan was thinking they were contenders let alone “winning the SB every year”.

This was the first year since they made the championship games under Rex Ryan where most Jets fans thought they were serious contenders.

It'll be interesting to compare next week after the Jets play Dallas... As you alluded to, with that line and Wilson LOVING to run backwards it could be a very long week for the jets next weekend particularly if they fall behind early

The Giants are trying to be good. The Jets were suppose to already be good. So the Jets are the bigger loser in the future.

And BTW, I blame Jets management for not having a better option to go to at quarterback. You should have had an ex-starting QB either as back-up or on the practice squad when you've put all your chips on a 39 year old QB who can't move away from trouble.

You don't know ANYTHING about the Jets fans I know. And you're just as stupid to be thinking I meant it literally. But then again you're a Jets fan.

Funny thing. After your post this morning I ran up the street to my local store and the guy I kinda know says.."you aren't a Jets fan are you?"
"No I'm not. Why, did they lose him for the season?"
"Yeah. The Jets fans have been absolutely out of control with their ..we're gonna win the superbowl stiff" lol.

HaHaHa. If I weren't such a long suffering Rutgers fan I'd feel sorry for you folks.
NOW I'll edit my vote to give it to the Titans.

How dumb do you have to be to think your anecdote backs up your point? I already said most Jets fans thought they had a chance THIS year, but it was the first time in ten years they felt that way.

Stop digging and just take the L.

You typed “Jets fans think they are going to win the SB every year”, which was completely wrong, except for maybe “the Jets fans you know”, who are probably not very smart if they associate with you and are not indicative of the fanbase.

Since the question is who had the worst week, I'm only looking at the week's results. The Giants clearly had a terrible week. The Jets won, despite losing Rodgers.
The Jets had the best week, but also had the worst luck. Who knows how either team will respond going forward?

You are correct, he did say every year. And that is as far from the truth as anything could be. Jets fans feel they will find a way to suck every year.
As for this year- of course there are fans that felt the Jets would win the SB. There are Giants fans that felt that way too.
But the vast majority of Jet fans felt that the Jets finally had a legit shot for a change. But with guarded hope.

Long, long, long time Jet fan here and I almost never think we had a chance at winning the SB. The only time I thought we had some hope was when Parcells was coach.
That being said if the Jets could get to the AFC championship game twice with Mark Sanchez as QB and the buffoon who was the coach then it's possible with Wilson.

"Now let's go eat a G** damn snack!!!"

It will be interesting to see how the Jets do in Dallas this week.
I've seen the spread as 8.5/9.5. I think that's too high IMHO

The Jets have a very good running game, and I think the Giants abandoned the running game too early against the Cowboys because it was working on that first drive.

However, watching the Cowboy pass rush and thinking about the Jets OLine is pretty scary. Wilson makes bad decisions with a clean pocket, it is hard to imagine that the Cowboys don’t get a few easy scores or short fields to work with against the Jets.

Worst game: Giants (a resounding 40 - 0 loss)
Worst week: J-E-T-S (season-/career-ending injury to AR)

But it's a loooong season. Let's check back in at the midpoint.

Idk that it is..

I have a feeling Wilson is going to be running for his life. A poor O line and inexperienced QB is a recipe for disaster against that defense.

No exaggeration, Dallas’s D this year I believe will go down as a historic defense. One that gets talked about along the lines of the legion of boom, 2000 ravens, 85’ Bears, mid 70’s Steel Curtain…. They’re THAT good
