In another thread, Bones said, "I will paypal Naz $1000 if he can show me a 5A (or old 4A out of 6 classes, or 3A out of 5 classes) school with 6 D1 athletes on their football team in IL within the last 2 decades."

Several people came back and posted 5A or old 4A private and public schools with at least 6 D1 athletes in recent years, much less the past 20. After a qualification or two on his part (ie: the usual private schools don't count sort of thing), he has been silent since folks posted examples of Morris and Phillips.

I couldn't find the poll feature (a casualty perhaps of moving to the new design?), so I'm conducting this the old fashioned way. Please reply to this poll/post with the following choices.

A. Bones will pay.
B. Bones will welsh.
C. I like donuts.

Click Post New Thread and about half way down there is a poll section, this might work.

Ramblin,

Like I've said I'm happy to help him out. He can make the check payable to Nazareth Academy Capital Campaign and I'll pick it up and deliver it to the school. It can be in his name and he gets the full benefit of the tax deduction. I hope you're correct for more than one reason!

By the way, I think he will pay.

All.... Hmm.... I have two questions, what is the IHSA record for losing the most money in a football bet and where does this one rank in the top ten. (I can't find the list) My second query is how high does this one (lol) rank in the country.... Ratsy

I remember hearing about a large bet between a Driscoll dad and a Montini dad. Driscoll won the bet and the game.

No offense to the fine people at Da Brook(coaches, players, and parents) but perhaps this sign I saw outside of Atlanta sums up Cross Bones current situation...

Bones I truly hope you're laughing too!;)

Whilst we wait with baited breath...

Can we discuss a personnel change for this season at Naz?

How about we talk about Da Brook and the fact they don't take just everyone that the bus brings but get their own fair share of transfers and cut the team to 75 players.

Whilst we wait with baited breath...

Can we discuss a personnel change for this season at Naz?

This is getting interesting. I say Bones will pay up.

Can I read more about personnel changes at Naz? Curious what's up at Football High.

MCHS,

I'm curious as well unless he means the changes in coaching staff at the Freshman level. If that's what he's referring to he's spot on, as much of that staff has changed. Varsity staff is status quo with I believe one additional coach that worked across a few levels last year.

This is getting interesting. I say Bones will pay up.

So you would like to discuss the changes it appears. Do you think the loss to the staff will affect the pipe line from a local area (local to me, that is) that somehow stretches all the way to LaGrange Park?

The information you believe to have may not be as accurate as you think. I also believe kids will go where they want to if given the option and parents can foot the bill. Now let's get back to the transfers into the Brook, the policy to cut players, and if you will be making a contribution or not. If not no problem just admit that you were wrong about your claim and we can all move on to what is important...the season!

You think that coach was funneling players to Naz? I've heard from numerous people (the actual people in question) that it is actually quite the opposite. Hearing from families that actually made that selection that it was not the coach that brought them to Naz but instead the families essentially that brought that coach. It was all about coaching acumen and not about bringing in recruits. A certain member of the staff already out worked all of the schools in that area and he had no connection to Naperville Patriots. This coach recruited my sons and the hardest thing they ever had to do was tell him they were picking Fenwick, he does a good job. Now the story about the Naperville migration to Naz comes from the actual families that made the Nazareth selection not some BB poster that owes the program 1g. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter who's coaching there those kids still have to pass and families still have to pay a substantial amount and their athleticism has no bearing on the aforementioned conditions.

Don't worry bones he will still be around. As TPF said I think the Naper families recruit their own very well.

Bones,

Come on out and play, it just takes three little words to move on with this whole silly mess.

Bones.
With the influx from the burbs I even saw Naz bus parked in Plainfield. Heard they may just build a train line from 111th to Naz. Central to all that areas.
