Pathetic. Vandy just looks significantly better coached. Barnhart should be thrown to the wolves.
But yesterday he was doing a great job according to many on here.

Pope sucks. Hired by an AD that is 10 years past his welcome and also sucks. UK sports (that matter) are a disaster.

Took Kentucky basketball of the 90’s and this is what he’s done. Tried to stop the only good hire made during his tenure. Pope and Gillispie hand picked.

Probably the reason him and Cal didn't get along, one cared about winning (even though he had his flaws) and the other cared about doing it his way and having control.
We got lucky and beat a bad LSU team. Barely beat a bad ole miss team at home.
We haven’t done anything. We’re a middle - lower middle of the pack SEC team. And the nation new it that’s why they’ve received no votes to be ranked and are in no discussions to be ranked.
Pope and Barnhart are destroying the UK brand.
In terms on contemporary college athletics, and specifically men’s football and basketball, the AD has never been more useless.

Been saying it. Mitch wanted full control of basketball and hired the guy that doesn’t deserve the job to control it. He’s been shut out of basketball since 2010 and I hope now he sees why that is.
This was a hire based on full control of the program. He took it back from the boosters and basketball alumni.

We were 27th in the polls and got several votes. We suck enough as is, no reason to make up fake things on top of that.

Look I get it. Calipari had to do, he was done at UK. He won’t win anything substantial at Arkansas either. We all know Cal and know how this ends even when he has a decent team, he’s a dinosaur and he gets out coached and goes home.
But if, if you’re going to hire a guy like this, then just keep him for a legacy play. And I wanted Calipari out since 2018.
Lots of 5-6 loss teams helped us get some votes. We have too many issues to make it anywhere though, so any ranking we ever got won’t amount to anything this season.
I wanted him to succeed badly, but how much more evidence do we need? We won’t win many games if we continually shoot 7-30 first half and get down 20. We will see if we can pull another one out of our ***, but it’s old.

He cared about doing it the way he thought was the right way. Not what the landscape currently is. He went and hired the one guy who would be so grateful for the job he would never go against Mitch. Hell BYU got better after Pope. That should tell you something. Mitch wants control of all programs no matter what it does to them individually.
Just think BYU got paid 6 million $ to get rid of Pope, and Hired a competent one.
