He didn’t last year. And he had ONE ncaa tournament win in his last five years here . It was beyond time for that pos bastard to go .

Cal needed to go but Pope isn't working either & this team he spent all that money on just doesn't fit. I don't know who the right coach is but Cal needed a fresh start & so did Kentucky fans. I actually wanted Billy Donovan & knew we couldn't get Hurley.
Exactly what you said x1000. He gets out coached quite often in the big games because other coaches know when they stop what he's doing, he doesn't make adjustments. Rather than coach to win the game, he tells the star players to make a play. We've all seen how atrocious his end of game plays are lol.
I turned the game off well before that. THAT should warrant a discussion from administration about expectations. My doomsday clock is matching the real one.

They will be back once we beat Mississippi state or someone on a last second shot after being down 17 all game.
How does Brandon Garrison get worse here? There is no development whatsoever. Looking back to his Freshman year before he came here, I was pretty excited to get the kid due to his potential. But look at him now in his Junior year. The kid is not even playable now. We HAVE to develop these kids who decide to come back. I see no positives from the past 1.5 years of UK Basketball unfortunately.

He picked players that don't play hard. He plays players that don't play hard. They don't look prepared. They don't look like they know what Vanderbilt is going to do. Heck, they don't look like they know what they're going to do.
I absolutely blame the players.
But Mark Pope picked every single one of them.
Two things can be true .
Number 1 : It was beyond time for Calipari to be gone .
Number 2 : Mitch didn’t hire the right guy.

I get it but even during that season, I had a little hope that we might make a run. That team never quit, it simply was a bad combination of players and circumstances.
Our current team is not enjoyable to watch. During the 5 game win streak we would win by 1, 2 or 3 points. Sounds like they should have been exciting but, the games themselves were boring as hell. Bottom line for me is that this team is simply no fun to watch. Pope is just a goofball that should be coaching in an obscure conference.
Some of us like our leaders to have an IQ of at least 70. You cant find a republican candidate that can pass the 70 IQ threshold.
Mitch took the easy way. Overpaid for a coach that would of taken the job for half of what he did.
I’m sure the it was easier at a school like BYU where the kids aren’t allowed to cuss or have caffeine. That’s not who he’s managing now and won’t if he wants to win. Even BYU moved away from the school model of the type of kids they did in the name of winning. You don’t have to scream and cuss them but you have to rule with an iron fist. Pope just doesn’t have the testicular fortitude to hold guys accountable at this level.
Look you piece of **** I agree this game was totally unacceptable as have several others been but we won five in a row, including UT in Knoxville. We are five and three in the SEC at this time two of those games were Rhoad wins believe that puts us in fourth place. I hated what I saw last night but I loved what I saw the five games before and I still have hope for this team. You want the other hand have been down on this team and the coach before the first player of the season all because their previous coach was gone. So just go to Fayette and blow Cal which is your dream job

There was a reason the vast majority of the fans wanted his *** on and they were right. Maybe Pope it's not the answer but Cal definitely isn't. You all scream about mediocrity, but what do you think Cal did his last five years and his first two years at Arkansas? You honestly think he's accomplishing something there just because he's getting recruits like he did here and then blows it with the talent he has?
I’m not enjoying Pope either . CAL AND POPE BOTH SUCK they aren’t the only 2 coaches in the universe that UK can get. If we had a competent AD we wouldn’t have Pope right now and we’d be getting somewhere. Cal will never win **** with Arkansas mark it down he’s just buying time!
