Mo could be a great asset but he showed his colors in the postgame interview of Otega. This is a team game but I am afraid he is too immature and selfish to be a contributor unless/until he has an attitude adjustment.

Maybe he left Bama to be a star at UK but his success is as a role player who scraps, rebounds, and plays hard nosed defense. Happy to see Jelly get MO’s minutes and build confidence.

I’ve thought from the beginning that he was one of the main issues with this team, both on the floor and “off” of it. It seems like he thinks he’s better than he really is, is combative with teammates and nearly every rumor earlier in the year about the secret team issue had him involved.

I won’t miss him after the season.

Him and Aberdeen my god. At least first half Aberdeen. He is so selfish and looks like he doesn’t even try half the time. Definitely not the player he was at Florida. Total miss coming here IMHO.
I agree about Abderdeen. He was solid tonight, though. Maybe if Mo gets less playing time and the offense stays more open and free flowing, DA will benefit.

That one poster that says we don't bash the players should read this thread lol. I agree with pretty much everything I'm reading though.

Jelly is more offensively skilled than MoD, but Jelly is soft on defense and rebounding.
I have to disagree with you Wky.
He is playing 15 minutes per game and averaging 4 rebounds. Also I think he is a good, not great defensive player. In the UNC game, Wilson attempted 19 shots to get his 18 or so points. Jelly is not quick but has good instincts and his height makes up for this deficiency.

He has:
Ball handling and passing skills
Good form on his shot - we have not seen good results yet though
Does not have to jack up shots just plays the game

His shooting has been atrocious, but he does not try to force up shots and with more playing time, I think he can be a fine player.

I would give him Mo’s minutes . He missed all summer and coming to the USA had to be unsettling. I believe He and Collin will be important contributors the rest of the season.

We thought we were getting a happy go lucky, garbage man. Except for a couple of games he’s been a pouty diva. He’d sit until I saw the junk yard dog we recruited every day in practice and then in games.
Totally agree Mash
I would sit him down and explain what is expected of him to earn playing time

1. Get rid of the attitude and be a supportive teammate. Most important criteria.
2. You are one of the best hard nosed and scrapping players in the country (over exaggerating a little). When the ball comes off the board or is on the floor, GO GET IT!
I want your mindset to be that if you don’t get it, the other team will get it.
3. Use your quickness and concentrate on becoming the best defensive player on the team.

You do 1-3 and you will play and get minutes. Scoring is great but not required.

Agree with both of you, UK and Fox.

I believe both Mo and Denzel thought that Bama and Fla held them back and they were going to show all their skills at UK. This was probably reinforced by their large NIL deals.

Fact is both have limited basketball skills especially offensively.
Mo cannot shoot but worse than that, he thinks he can!
Denzel is similar: he believes he needs to dribble the air out of the ball and create his own shot. This usually ends up being a forced low percentage shot and miss.

Mo needs to be instructed that shooting 3’s is not his game and will limit his minutes.
Denzel needs to be instructed that his shots should come from movement of the ball and when he is open he has the green light.

if I am CMP, I use bench time for these 2 as both a motivation and learning tool. You fill your role and playing time increases. You don’t and you v become an assistant coach.

Exactly this. So sick of kids trying to work through their issues their agents tell them to work on here. Play ******* team ball or GTFO.
