If this is true, he will have more than enough NIL money to filled up the roster and be a solid team next season.
I think anyone getting excited or even considering the possibility of a Reed return are setting themselves up for massive disappointment. If he does decide to stay, which I don't think he will, Reed will be able to get all he wants on his own without dipping into the main NIL fund. He will be able to command his own pool of NIL by being a KY kid and most likely a preseason all American. If he is still being projected as a top 5 pick or even a top 10 pick I just think its going to be a really hard decision financially to turn that down. I would love more than anything to see him lead this charge next year, but I also will perfectly understand if he goes pro. It will be really hard for him to improve his draft stock by coming back another year.
Reed is not going to gobble up half of that. And I still think he leaves. It's the smarter thing for him to do.I heard somewhere between $5 to $8 million when it's all said and done.
Reed would gobble up about half of that.
We're going to have to live off the portal more than any blue blood due to the bare cupboard right now, but that might be a good thing.
Keep reaching.I think anyone getting excited or even considering the possibility of a Reed return are setting themselves up for massive disappointment.
I get Reed loves UK, but a guaranteed lottery pick worth $25 - 30 million over 4 - 5 years is going to win out. Turning that down to return for a new head coach with very limited tournament and draft success, to play with a brand new team that's being put together from scratch in mid-April just isn't a logical decision.
And it's not like Reed is the type that will be projected high no matter what. He went from being a person most people questioned would ever be drafted to a lottery pick in 1 season. Again, that isn't something you risk if you don't have to.
The other issue is how weak this draft is. It's being considered the weakest ever. Why wouldn’t you take advantage instead of risking seeing your stock slip in a better draft?
If this is true, he will have more than enough NIL money to filled up the roster and be a solid team next season.
Everything they've posted has had a negative spin since they joined last week.Keep reaching.
I would think you smell like another new troll posing as a UK fan.I would think that kind of money would be generating more interest and buzz amongst portal guys, recruits and the players still on our roster.
So far, there isn't much buzz other than the couple of guys that decommitted from BYU.
The problem for Pope is going to be keeping the fans interested and excited if he struggles to bring players in that can compete within the first couple seasons. Not having a lot of experience and connections with high level recruiting is going to be the thing he has to overcome to make it work for him at UK.
Reed is a projected lottery pick. No way he returns. Too riskyI heard somewhere between $5 to $8 million when it's all said and done.

I'd willing to go out on a limb and say you're still going to need assistants and coaches with deep roots, something Barnhardt could have never seen coming.
Keep reaching.

It must be exhausting going through life thinking you're be trolled everytime you hear something you don’t want to hear or disagree with.Everything they've posted has had a negative spin since they joined last week.
Just for 1 year, since such a late start. The following year should be the same amount as other top programs. But I also think our NIL drops next year too.I heard somewhere between $5 to $8 million when it's all said and done.
Reed would gobble up about half of that.

The trolls are obvious at this point. We normally have a handful during the season but they've come out of the woodwork this week. My question is why waste your time? You have to be an absolute no life to take the time signing up to an opposing teams message board just to pretend to be a fan so you can throw digs at the program and/or fanbase. Go outside. It must be exhausting going through life thinking you're be trolled everytime you hear something you don’t want to hear or disagree with.

I watched all of the BYU/Kansas game and one thing stood out above the rest of the factors: how many rebounds his scrappy band of misfits got. Yes, BYU played loose. But if I'm a rival coach, I'm going to find out how he teaches rebounding.I think Pope will take some good , solid players, and coach the hell out of them. He will make adjustments and players will play free and loose. Something we haven't seen in years. I'm damn looking forward to it, and am ready to support Pope.
Love a scrappy team.I watched all of the BYU/Kansas game and one thing stood out above the rest of the factors: how many rebounds his scrappy band of misfits got. Yes, BYU played loose. But if I'm a rival coach, I'm going to find out how he teaches rebounding.
NOT his offense or his schemes. Rebounding. There's no way his shorter guys should have got that many offensive rebounds. (Yes, that could have been a one-off lucky game where one team got the bounces.)
This is why winning 20+ games, getting a 3-6 seed is important in year 1. Need to shake off the national narrative of “KY failed to hire their guy and got turned down” instead of it being that we offered 2 and went to Pope. These kids don’t know anything about him they just know the knee jerk “Calipari is gone and KY is dead”. If he can have a decent year one and show that we aren’t suddenly Vandy. Show the Nation the offense and system. Be a fun to to watch….now you’ve got a little momentum and have a full recruiting cycle and portal cycle. They’ll come year 2 if you don’t completely bomb year 1. We just need to get enough to be competitive year 1I would think that kind of money would be generating more interest and buzz amongst portal guys, recruits and the players still on our roster.

He competed at BYU in the Big 12. Thinking he comes to UK with the recruiting restrictions he was under no longer an issue and not field a competitive team is just not based in reality. He will field more than competitive teams. The rub is those teams will look vastly different than they did during the cal era. Not sure some of our fan base is going to accept that you don’t have to have a top ranked recruiting class to be successful. Cal did/does to be even remotely successful and even then that is fading fast. Going to be awesome having a real coach on the sidelines. Calling cal a coach is an embarrassment to the profession.I would think that kind of money would be generating more interest and buzz amongst portal guys, recruits and the players still on our roster.

If they're comparing it to Georgia football, it's going to be more $ than that which is amazingI heard somewhere between $5 to $8 million when it's all said and done.

You’re right there but Sheppard and Pope were college roommates don’t underestimate that part of the equation too….Reed is a projected lottery pick. No way he returns. Too risky

Exactly how is he reaching? You are great at posting a lot without saying anything.Keep reaching.
People act like he has been in a bubble and "just rolls the ball out".
Autofill got me there and I missed it. Don't worry.Who's Justin Burks? Jordan's brother
