Are that these guys for the most part are a little underwhelming but the staff is putting effort in and has had a lot of traffic. So I guess that's impressive even tho it is their job. I am thinking we can't have much money tied up in these guys. The Oklahoma WR probly got paid, Hibbler got a little but I bet the best is yet to come. I guess we will find out over the next 10 days or so.

We’ve done pretty good so far with WR & edge rushers. Lot of work left to be done on OL & at DT. Need a few 4* players.
So much for Jackson Arnold. Supposedly he is telling Auburn he won't be visiting State. Earlier today the thought was that Murphy had shut his visits down after Auburn. What to believe ? I think people just make these rumors up. Kromenhoek or bust ?? Guess he will be here Sunday and Monday.
Krimenhiek was awful when he played this year. We need to just sign a decent backup cheap & get about 2 4* interior linesmen on each side of the ball.
Agree. There has to be a South AL…Troy type of qb we can get on the cheap to back up Shapen. Beef up the lines and roll with it.

look at the qb Curtis Rourke Cig brought in from the MAC. you don’t have to just chase stars, you have to be able to evaluate talent.
I've been critical of the NIL and portal, but I hope our guys do well. I really won't try to gauge my thoughts on who they got until next summer is over. You never know who will be looking for a home today or tomorrow. I think our guys will have to be very patient.

Who gives a 17 about stars. We need players with experience and success at their position regardless of where they played. I could list minimum 50 4/5 stars in the portal who have done nothing to justify their rankings.
That's usually taken care of in the portal star rankings. Looks like one of the DT's supposedly visiting us was 5* coming out of HS, but after 4 tackles in 2 seasons, is a 3* now. In any case, while I agree with you on individual players, lots of high rated players suck and lots of low rated ones can be really good, when you're looking at a large group of players the higher rated ones are going to be better than the lower rated ones. Hard to make a living finding the diamonds everyone else missed.
and in our case, the college production & experience of our transfers in so far is pretty dismal. Which is backed up by the star ratings.

I just get irritated when I think about this is how college football will be year after year after year until something happens to fix it. Just teams full of guys who met each other a few months back and will be heading back out the door less than a year later
You’re assuming something will happen to fix it. I don’t see that happening.
