It's not to me. We live in a world where people hide behind screen names, X handles and burner accounts. When consequences actually occur, the go to line is "my account was hacked". Consequences are always what should happen to other people, not us.
With that said, I hope the full weight of consequences comes this young man's way but he'll be smart enough to learn from it. I don't have my hopes up on the second part.

Its astounding people don't understand there are cameras everywhere. I mean everywhere. No way you can get away with anything anymore. Even people living in the country have game cams and cameras. It is really stupid to do crap like that.

A sizable portion of the population will open social media, let it figure out an algorithm for them, and they start believing every single word that some retard from across the country says in video after video that is picked out just for them. They watch videos where people do and say things without consequences. Then they themselves say and do things without consequences online. Then it transfers over to their own lives.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was on the receiving end of an antisemitic comment as he filmed a pizza review in Toronto.

Interesting that this isn’t even the first time this year that Portnoy has gotten the same message during a pizza review. And he also had some dudes hold up a sign saying the same at his own bar this year.
Yeah, first time around, I wondered why everybody was clutching pearls about the kid saying “17 you!” to Portnoy. Then I watched it again and I heard “17 the Jews!” and understood the context that he was throwing coins at him. That sнit is appalling. Put that kid on front street and let it be known that kind of sнit isn’t tolerated in Starkville.
One other thing I hate about it is that it feeds so totally into the stereotypes of ol’ backwoods racist bigoted Miss’ippi to a national audience. Best thing the university can do is be quick and decisive in the expulsion.
Like Dave or not, he’s putting out a ton of positive media about Starkville & Mississippi State to an audience that wouldn’t normally have either on their radar.
A kid like that probably has parents who will applaud his actions and sell their faculty tickets to raise money for his legal defense.
Speech should be free of punishment but not free of consequences.
One should also be prepared to accept the consequences of said free speech. Whether those consequences are good or bad.
