Possibly post Vandy wool, but I feel like we

are going to upset one of the upper echelon teams. For the first time in years, I feel like we have a capable coaching staff.

I've said all along that we'd beat one of these studs coming into Starkville. I don't know who, but I just think that we'll knock one of them off.

We beat a really, really horrible Vanderbilt team tonight, and had to struggle to do it. I'm happy with the win, but unless we improve A LOT it will be our only SEC win this season I'm afraid. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think our offense is good enough to hang with the other SEC teams. Maybe Kentucky, but that's it.

wow. I'm an optimist, but I'm not THAT optimistic. I think we did some good things today... but I'm just still in wait and see mode until our secondary shows some improvement along with the passing game.

We'll be the underdog in every game for the rest of the season, but we'll win one...maybe two more. Not that far from my original prediction, but up from my post-Auburn blues. I don't know which game it will be, but I think we'll upset someone.

Hopefully.

if vandy had a decent qb or their recievers would have made a few more catches they should have made. we lose tonight. possibly real bad!
i would pass all the time against our 2ndary. they cant couldnt cover with 22 men. they really are that bad. maybe the worst i ahve ever seen!

I try to be a realistic as possible and error on the pessimistic side, but you are making Vandy sound like the Vandy of the late 90s. Now I'm not saying they are great by any stretch of the imagination, but to say they are "really, really horrible" is a bit of an embellishment. They had looked fairly solid in their 2 games prior to last night.

but 5 is possible. Just don't think we have hardly any SEC talent on the squad. So, while I think our coaching staff has some semblance of competence (which had been missing at MSU other than Ellis J. for 5 straight years), they just can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****. Sylvester Croom was a self imposed 5 year death penalty of sorts. I guess we weren't dead, just on total life support so the Social Security check from the SEC would keep rolling in. Now that the program has been taken off the ventilator, it will take at least 2 full seasons before we are competitive. I will gladly take 4 wins this year 'cause that's twice what the previous staff would have given us with this bunch of sad sacks. I just hope the fan base can hang in there during another very disappointing year or two. Hope we can upgrade the defensive coordinator as well, because win over hapless Vandy aside, Torbush is not the answer.
