We sat in the Arkansas section (A) and had a great time.

Wanted to give my opinion on the game atmosphere and see what other hog fans that were there thought.

1. There stadium is still very unimpressive. My wife who is an MSU alum and been to plenty of games at RRS said "Our stadium looks so small" when talking about Davis Wade.

2. There jumbotron is sweet. Is it time to put ours up in a yard sale and upgrade? I kid but it is nice.

Most importantly: MSU Stadium officials or whoever does a much better job keeping the fans pumped and into the game. The music is better, what they do pregame, during timeouts, halftime, etc was all about getting the fans on their feat, loud and excited. It was all newer rock and hip hop type music but it was done right. They do not cater to the blue hairs or those that think Pat Boone rocks. It was electric in there, may be the best all around atmoshpere I have ever experienced with or without cowbells. Hell even there commercials on the jumbotron were better. During pregame warmups they play lots of clips of past MSU football games and clips from lots of other sports. I really enjoyed the overall experience even though it was a hostile envrinoment.

It is a testament to our team that they were able to pull out the win in this environment. I'm out of town so haven't read what the players said about it, but I was at the GA game, and this crowd was louder and better than the other Bulldogs to the east and this had to be a toughter place to play. Maybe the toughest all year.

If a UA official wants to improve our stadium experience all they have to do is go to one game at MSU. It pains me to say that but it's true in my opinion and it is embarrassing that in this regard this cowtown school does better than the UofA. We have one of the best on campus stadiums in the country time to have an experience and atmosphere to match.

So what did you others that were at the game think? How did it appear on TV? Did the commentators talk about it?</div><div class="post" id="msg_5641738" style="width: 823px; overflow-x: auto; overflow-y: auto; line-height: 1.3em; margin-top: 0.7em; padding-top: 0.7em; border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 1px; border-top-color: rgb(136, 136, 136); ">

We are truly on the way up</div></td></tr><tr id="msg_5641738_footer" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); "><td valign="bottom" class="smalltext" width="85%" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 0.8em; font-family: verdana, sans-serif; "></td></tr></tbody></table></span>

if they think last night was failure, they should have come to one of our early games.

And if they think the cowbells were loud, they should have been here last year.

Any tougher stance from the SEC on cowbells this offseason = touch foul called pass interference

we need something concrete in the endzone so bad. The metal bleachers look so bush league in person and even worse on tv. I know it's coming and all but man I wish we could go ahead and get the lower section done for next year. Then build the suites the following season.

Completely wishful thinking I know.....

get why they would think this. I would say there may have been 4-5 (if that) bells ringing g at wrong times within a 50 ft radius of where I sat.

And there were probably 10-12 ringing at inappropriate times. But when you have 4-5 bells ringing at inappropriate times in just about every section of the stadium, with that being two or three-fold in the student sections, it adds up.

Do i think we failed to follow the rules set in place? NO. Once again we did a fantastic job keeping our bells in check, with the obvious exception for the idiots that were drunk and incompetent. I feel there is no reason we should have been fined, and it angers me to even think that we may get just that for following the rules.

I'll start by saying I'm a lifelongHog fan and my girlfriend is an MSU grad and Dog fan. This past week, in our emails we simply left it as "Go _ogs!!"...:)...We watched the game together, and I must say sherang hercowbell at every opportunity. Dang my ears were hurting!...lol...I want to express my sympathy toward the entire Bulldog Nation concerning the passing of Nick Bell. I'm sure he is looking down and proudly smiling at all of the accomplishments. Your team played a tremendous game, and with a lucky bounce or two in your favor it could have easily gone either way. You have a really good team and an excellent coach. You showed up in force and supported your team with a near record crowd. Just like Arkansas and most of the rest in the SEC West, we've all come a long way in the past couple of years and compete in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the whole nation. Had your team or Arkansas, either one played in the East Division we'd be the division champs this year. With Coach Mullen, you have a lot to look forward to. As you probably know, we in Arkansas have no lost love for Houston Nutt, and the entire state of Arkansas will be pulling for you guys to win the Egg Bowl. Youhave my utmost respect.

Well, the University is certainly doing their part. My 8 year old daughter noticed the "save the bell and yell". Funny part is, after the game, she asked me. "Why can we not ring our cowbells when we need to ring them. I don't want to ring it during commercials." I am proud of her. </p>

I've never been to DWS, but I've been to RRS multiple times. If DWS offers more than 6" spacing between seating rows and isn't supported by metal flooring, then you guys have a nicer stadium than the hogs. The only thing that stadium has going for it is a multitude of concessions.

I've never been to Fayetteville but it sounded like you were describing War Memorial in Little Rock which is quite honestly - the worst stadium I have ever been to. Worse than Veterans in Jackson.

...he's gotta be talking about WMS in Little Rock. What a dump that place is.

Razorback Stadium is nice since the latest expansion about ten years or so ago. They probably had the nicest jumbotron in the conference before Ole Miss got theirs and then we got ours. The only thing weird about Fayetteville was the freaking trailer they have in the endzone that the team ran out of. It literally had something like a pull-up garage door on it and the team would lift it up and run out of it. They've sinced put a facade on it to make it look nicer, but it was stereotypical of something you'd see in the hills of northwest Arkansas.

Other than that, the campus is beautiful, the stadium is nice, and it's a great place to spend the weekend, with nice bars and such. It's never been an easy commute up there, though.

I am talking about the stadium in Fayetteville. The seating rows are way too close together, so much so that it is darn near impossible to move in and out of your seats to the aisles. The flooring, at least on the West side, is sheet metal, and it is slick as 17 with the least amount of water. Not that VHS is The Plaza or anything, but at least you're not sitting on top of the person in front of you.

War Memorial Stadium has long been loathed as a dump. However, many past coaches have considered it one of the toughest road environments. Decibel levels are excruciatingly high for opposing teams on the field, when the crowd is into it. Razorback stadium is nicer, not as loud though.

One thing to add, I'm not sure why state has been scheduled recently as the LR road game. Perhaps the past perception is that MSU is a weak program. It will be interesting to see if that changes since your program is on the way up. (Albeit so is Arkansas, but the Dawgs are gaining on LSU, Ole Miss and likely Auburn, as the sanctions are leveled.)

Final point of emphasis, if the sanctions on Auburn are really as bad as many believe them to be, my prediction (factless admittedly for now) is that MSU will beat Auburn at minium 85% of the time. I bring this up because it is a game changer. Alabama's sanctions were different, because state didn't have mullen. With mullen, if state fulfills that benchmark, bowls will improve and state will move from #5-6 in the west to #3-5. Very crucial change in trend.

Gaining on %%%%?? I didn't know there was anything to gain on!

Historical trends, not contemporary. Right now, there's not much to gain on OM. Nutt has definitely had a travesty of a season.
