There's a large number of player's that should be wearing YSU gear. Cause their heart isn't in Lincoln, Nebraska. What Riley does short of telling a bunch of player not to return next year and grant them a release is beyond me. There's no reason for this team to come out and play like that especially after how we played at Minnesota.

Maybe Riley and his staff aren't very good coaches. Have you thought about that? Just go back and look at OSU's team stats the last couple years, and you will see some glaring issues. I know he didn't have a ton of talent, but some of that is still on him.

That's easy to say when some player's actually played with passion for Riley against Minnesota. But i guess they had to double down on their love for Bo and literally not care about beating Northwestern.

Yea, whoever said we would be in BIG west race a few weeks ago when we play Iowa must have meant BIG 10 race for cellar dweller. We get to play Purdue for the title next week. Pretty impressive.

Occam's Razor states that the simplest explanation is usually the correct explanation. Which is the simplest?

- The players are involved in a coup in the locker room in order to right the wrongs or something against Bo Pelini. So they are intentionally tanking certain games to make Riley look bad, and Pelini look good. AKA, a conspiracy theory.

OR

- The players are playing poorly, because thus far they've been poorly coached.

Some people really need to go see their respective shrinks come Monday morning.

Nice....I think he poorly coached thing is coming to the front. I did read a previous post that Banker, Cav and Reed all should have been fired at OSU but Reilly wouldn't pull the trigger.....Are we seeing this scenario pan out here in Lincoln?

Again this is another question for Eichorst... It's no wonder Riley jumped on board so quick because he and his staff were in trouble in Corvallis.

We were horribly coached under Bo.
And
Riley is like a step parent in a bad divorce gone horribly wrong. The ex is a lying manipulating headcase and your left trying to pick up the pieces when the kids come home from the ex's week.

No use blaming BP for this at this point. New coaches have the job of getting their players on board, no matter what the situation is in the job they accept. If they don't succeed in getting them on board for whatever reason, then it is on the new staff.

Exactly. This staff has been average for 30 years, no reason to believe it will change now. It was an underwhelming hire from the get-go and the 3-5 record thus far this year has proved that.

Blaming the players to excuse poor coaching is akin to blaming gravity for a poor airplane design. He's a college coach. He needs to connect with college players. If he can't do that, he's not a very good coach. You can blame some nebulous characteristic like "attitude," as if you can really get a good understanding of what the collective attitude of the team by watching it from the stands or at home, but even that is just consequence of poor coaching, not an excuse for it.
There are better ways to defend Riley. This particular reasoning is weak.

I finally get it now. You're a just a huge troll. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll look forward to your post after our next win about how the players forgot to love Bo for a game

Here's one of the over used statements I've heard during the last staff. Think it applies here now.

He's is being paid a lot of money to coach this team and win games, time to start earning it. No excuses!
