From someone who has had multiple things in the air the past month, who wants to project lineups and rotation for the next season? Does the new freshman flamethrower have a shot to enter the weekend lineup or probably midweek at least on the front end? Catcher still a huge liability?

We filled all our holes. We're gonna be pretty loaded. The biggest position battles will be for the corner outfield spots. I doubt Bauer (the freshman who throws 103) will play a huge role in 2026. He needs some refinement.

CF - Teel
3B - Ace
DH - Sullivan
C - Milewski
1B - Stallman/Bevis
SS - Wyers
2B - Woodson/Sanders

Corner outfielders: Valincius, Parker, Nunnallee, Chance, Frei, Jones

I am not going to attempt a starting line up or rotation for next year, but the draft went about as well as we could hope. Siary and Nate Williams are the only two guys off the current roster that you realistically could've hoped to have back next year that were drafted. You lost Jojo Parker and Landon Harmon from the high school recruits, but I'm not sure anyone honestly expected either to make it campus. Jacob Parker was drafted late, but it seems he's going to come to school at least based off the statement he released. To get nearly all of this high school class to campus is big. Davion Hickson, transfer from Rice, is the only transfer State lost. All in all, State can feel good about how the draft went.

Bauer will need some development in 2026. I doubt he features prominently. I'd guess some midweek relief duties and maybe a midweek start or two. Hopefully Parker and BOC can develop him.

Catcher should be a big upgrade. Milewski alone is an upgrade. Andrew Raymond from George Mason is going to provide some needed depth at that position too.

Bauer could develop this fall and play a McPherson type role for us. I wouldn't count on him being a starter this season, but I also wouldn't rule him out of playing a prominent role. Each freshman develops differently. All it takes sometimes is for one small thing to click.

Nah but definitely a bullpen guy. If he develops quickly maybe a closer. That might be unrealistic but turning up that smoke in the 9th is always good

I for one will be so sad if we sweep LSU this year and even sadder if the camera crew gets Jay facial expressions for new memes on the internet.

Abbreviated version: we’re about to drag our nuts across the entire league
Not to do any pre-shitting or anything…. But do I need to remind you state fans that it’s rosters like this that always cut the deepest.

Baseball America released a too early top 25 today. We were 4th in the country (and 3rd in the SEC).
