We should be 13 as long as our only conference win is Indiana. Maybe 12. Hopefully we win some other conference games this year. If we could have held on against Nebraska and pulled off the win against Michigan State last year this might have looked different. Are we those teams or the teams that lost to Minnesota, Maryland and looked dreadful against Penn State?

I think this year hinges on Qb play. Probably does every year but there isn’t much difference between the teams below PSU and RU. If we can get solid Qb play we have a good season.
Exactly. See Maryland for example

I don’t understand, their prediction makes absolutely no sense. our most knowledgeable and accurate forecaster of how how Rutgers will perform in any given year has us possibly going 8-0 to start the season. Something is definitely wrong, I am so confused.
That cited TKR prognosticator? His wisdom rules the day. #RutgersOwl

A game changing, innate QB with unteachable intangibles and the gift of vision and awareness is one thing.

A functioning to good OL with our current QB’s is far more important and will determine whether any QB we play looks average.

We don’t have a QB ready to play who will even approach average, without a decent OL

After the top 10 teams it’s a useless ranking
of course, unless we were ranked #21 then it would be wonderfull, right?
I mean you did check to see where we were ranked didnt you?
you weren't checking the B1G rankings to see where they had Ohio St.

Overall rankings and in general regardless of where RU is.

It's a wake up call for the few fans left thinking our team has looked anything but bad for the last 3 years and for those who give more weight to their own predictions and faith in the coach than actual game play. Everyone else expects results. They have not yet been delivered, at all.

RU is still a BE team compositionally.
USF would probably still be a win and WV still a loss
I'd say better than Big East. But I get your point. The Big 10 and the SEC are the tallest mountains to climb without question. I get the frustration with the crappy results since Schiano left for the NFL. We had a couple bright spots in the first couple years. Pretty much the residual Gregg roster.

We had 2 bad hires that caused all chutes backwards and no ladders toward progress. The hole Gregg is climbing us out of was deep. I think we are about to peek above ground this season and get steadily better going forward.

Pike has proved its possible with BB. The problem is the number of players needed to turn over a roster for football. The number of quality coaches needed is a whole other issue.

That's just semantics Doug. You can scream from the highest hilltops about how much respect you deserve. Still boils down to performing on the field.
You can't take respect without earning it. Unless your foe is a cuck.
We could win 10 straight National Championships and the majority of the B1G will not respect us. So I say f'em. Kick *ss and take names. JPO said it best. That is what I meant by that statement.

It’s the philosophy, therefore the coach. Ground and pound and defense can’t work when the opponents are bigger, stronger, faster and deeper.

Look at TTU in the past, Kansas now, WVU with Slaton & White, WSU with Leach, etc.

Need to be inventive and creative when you’re outmanned, but GS is the opposite. The day he’s canned can’t come soon enough. Until then our program will stay in the conference toilet.

There’s a reason most successful teams these days have offense-trained head coaches. Is why OSU hired Day and showed Schiano the door. It isn’t 1960.

How do you know this? The basketball team gets respect and they haven't won the Big Ten let alone 10 NCs in a row. But they've actually had a number of quality wins. Our football team doesn't have even one true quality win. At best it has a small number of wins over good programs in bad years, and only two that I can think of (UM, MSU) in 10 years.

You want to play this game? Indiana fans and media continue to take shots at us. There is the whole movement where they trashed our program about losing players to transfers and recruits. We own them, yet the mock us. This goes Michigan and OSU fans and media as well

Everyone gets talked down, even teams like Ohio State and Michigan. Of course we're going to get it, too. We've been rock bottom bad for a long time. And it's not like our fans don't talk sh*t about other programs.

I read the lacrosse board where several B1G fans encouraged non B1G to disrespect us as they called Rutgers a fraud.

You are more concerned at questioning me every chance you get. I don't have a problem with you, but you seem to have one with me.

Lol I don't even know who you are and unlike many on here I don't remember screen names very much, so no idea what you're talking about.

100%. It takes longer since injuries and depth are key and of course frontline recruits are a must.Have to win and respect will come.

Anyone check in with Al? Worried about him.
Syracuse predicted at #57 and Rutgers at #99.
Certainly hope this doesn’t materialize at the end of the season. If so Year 4 for Greg 2.0 continues to flounder and we need to starting making plans.

All kidding aside I genuinely do worry about Al if Schiano winds up getting canned.

I’m sure the excuses are being contemplated now. “It’s the RU fan’s fault that Greg was terminated “ LMAO
