I predict a 17 and 15 regular season and a NIT berth. Of course without ever seeing the freshman play a game.

Last season, without ever seeing Lands, James, and Rhee, I predicted a 19 and 11 season. Oops!

many fans are saying 12 wins. with people willing to bet for under 16 wins. so 12-16 wins.

KP has put together a great team but I have issues with scheduling and the Empire Classic. last year we went from losing 4 in a row in Maui to then playing a strong Miami team and a game at Florida State. so 6 losses in a row.

Empire State Classic will likely end up in a bad streak of losses.
I also worry KP will waste time on conditioning drills. there is limited practice time and team should be working on offense immediately.

“Great team“ is a stretch! From going 4-28 without any coaching proof I’d say 16 o/u is pretty accurate

With absolutely no analysis behind it, I’ll go with “lucky 13.”

I’ll also predict that will be improvement enough for Payne to coach here a third year.

While I’m red hot and assuming the above happens, I’ll predict average attendance will dip below 10,000 in 2024-2025. There will also be serious discussion whether to drop the black curtains in the upper arena…

I say 16 wins.

Would love to be proven wrong and they make the tournament but too many doubts and question marks right now.

18+ Dont ask for my source, but believe it or not I got some insightful inside information today a management conference. Someone who attended last summers’ workout and last weeks’ sessions. Completely night and day difference, the new players have bought in and working their tails off. Attitude is markedly different. Plus FLOWERS is the real deal!

He will win 12 to 16 games, just off sheer talent. To get to the ncaat, he will actually need to scheme/coach,/adjust which we know he cant do

The unfortunate truth; at least he did not demonstrate that ability last year. I guess it comes down to the question of whether you can win in today’s college hoops with the “roll it out and let them play“ philosophy. In my view, if you indeed can, why pay coaches millions anymore? Plow that money into recruiting and let some shmoe coach for $150k per year.

we would have more wins than 16 but players are in sports bras and doing conditioning drills.
very puzzling to me why they aren't playing team basketball in practice.

Put me down for 12 wins also and maybe 15 wins as highest. Payne will improve the players a bunch.

Holding until I see the schedule. Even better would be to see the first 3 to 5 games. Without seeing a schedule 12 to 16 wins… maybe 18 feels about right. This team should be much better. Cannot be much worse.

Totally understand why EL and Curry said what he did about this fake fanbase truly embarrassing.
I wish El wouldn’t have interacted with fans as much on Twitter and he acted like they were only from our fanbase. There’s fans like that everywhere. Just have to ignore them

If there's ever a season that's impossible to predict it's this one coming up. There is one thing very early that will need to be different from last season to even attempt to predict how many wins.

IQ

I never seen such a prolonged season of poor thinking basketball as were the Cards last season. These new guys have to at least look like they understand the game of basketball.

If they do, then maybe how many wins they get will be determined on talent and coaching?

is it Evans dunking on Okorafor and Flowers on our twitter page? if Evans gives us some offense, then this team will be very dangerous. he's been working on his offense nearly everyday with his trainer.

I'm going with 12 wins or less but agree with the rest of this..

i'll up to 20 wins.

early limited reports is that this team is good. Trentyn Flowers, Tre White, Curtis Williams, Skyy Clark will be solid.

injuries are the wild card. Dennis Evans, Okorafor, and Jovanavich are banged up already with leg/feet issues.

If Payne gets 20 wins, he deserves consideration for some COY awards. And last year was a complete fluke.

I’ll also believe all of that when I see it…

I’m going with “significantly improved” from last year. Which means we will go 8-23, and Kenny Payne will deserve to be fired, just like he deserved to be fired last year.

Just a little perspective on how bad last year was, that 8 wins in a basketball season can legitimately be called significant improvement.

For me, it's not just how many wins as it is how much fire and intelligence this new group will have. If Clark can be a effective point guard, if the players appear to know where to be on the floor, I think there's enough talent to be a winning team.

If the Cards have 2 or 3 coaches on the floor, KP's coaching acumen may not be as important. If however, this roster needs great coaching for motivation and basketball IQ, it could be another single digit win season.

We just don't know for sure how good or bad KP really is until there's a talented team on the floor. Will we underachieve with talented players? Will he make bad substitutions? It's seems to me KP is not a x's and o's kind of coach but more like a motivator. A coach who gets his players to overcome any deficiencies.

I guess we'll see.

UK is going to Canada for a scrimmage game. this is valuable experience.

are we going to scrimmage anyone?

why not have a scrimmage game between TBT and this current Louisville squad?

I’ll log in with 19+ victories in the regular season.

Add some more in the post Season.

And then beware of the Cards in 24-25.

Just gonna say that, until proven differently, I have a lot more trust in this group of players than I do in this group of coaches. I just have this premonition that we’re gonna hear a lot of, “We’re just young”, “The guys are just not picking up what we’re teaching” and “We do it everyday in practice, they’re just not doing it games”. Hope I’m wrong and will gladly admit to being wrong if I’m proven wrong.

Good question because they’re not far apart.

12,497 per game for men this past season. 8,779 for the women.

The first two years that the downtown arena was open, women's attendance was >10,000 per game.

I don't think anyone believes there was >10,000 actual attendance for most of the men's home games this past year...
