Hand off to Sam Brown for a gain of 5 yardsI
I'm expecting (hoping) our OL is too big for their DL. Our guys are more experienced together and they've lost their best DLman.
Of note, have you seen their OL depth chart? Of 10 - 3 true frosh, 1 RS frosh a couple of RS sophomore and 3 seniors, hmmm. Could be a fun day for our D.

Interesting that some have Young involved.

Do you think both Young and Brown are in the field? Or just Young.

I assumed Brown would start but not really sure why.
After thinking about it - seeing Kyle out there first play wouldn’t be weird either.

RU had an actual OC then.

Don’t know what we have there yet. TBD. That team was just better designed to convert big plays.

We’re obviously not playing a style with a full back now, but Burton was an elite blocker that I don’t think we have at any position. We clearly don’t have a stud receiver like Caroo, and GW would have to improve a lot to be comparable to Nova, so….

On the plus side, I’m hopeful that our defense will be better than that team was. Maybe significantly so.

Good to see the usual suspects are in mid-season form. I hope the Offense is as well oiled.

I have no problem with a zone read as our first play of the game. Would love to see us run the ball well and wear them down and take our shots when available. Defense needs to terrorize NW.

They will both be on the field together often I bet provided hes 100% healthy. Young has always shown good potential to be a receiving back. And he’s an above average blocker. I’m choosing my words carefully there. I don’t think he’s elite compared to a player like Burton (just referenced) but he’ll easily be one of our best blocking options even when not getting hand offs.

Jet Sweep to Rachad Rochelle, for a 5 yard gain. NW defense mostly fooled on play but a TD saving ankle tackle by lone unfooled NW defender holds it to a moderate gain

Excuse me. That offensive coordinator was fired last year, sir.

If It’s hot and dry on Sunday the first play from scrimmage could be the “ Annexation of Puerto Rico”… works every time.

Motion Langan across the formation left to right. RPO reading a slant, flat, or run. SB is given the ball for a 3.5 yard gain.

Sheppard takes the snap runs it up the middle for 3 yards. Heads scratch in the stands wondering who he is as there was no depth chart released.

30 yard slant pass, but we get called for a unsportsmanlike penalty when the receiver does the chop (like what happened to us, I think 2007 against NC, when Eric Foster got called for it at a crucial time in the 4th quarter.

Has anyone predicted a sack? Didn't notice.

Considering the state of the OL I wonder how likely that is (hopefully low).

How about this as a season-opening first play?

August 28, 2014 in Seattle. Nova to Caroo for 78 yard TD. Fridge was OC.

Go to 4:15 mark of this video.

love that.. and he ran straight to the sideline.. no excessive celebration or chest-thumping. Well done.

Just realized that if it were incomplete I would have complained that it wasn't play-action.. no effort to make D think Run. Didn't even line up the RB closer to teh QB.

Fumblerooskie for a TD.
called back because it is illegal now.

Is The Fumblerooski Legal? In addition to being banned by college football in the 1990s, in the NFL, if this play is run today, it's considered an intentional forward fumble, which becomes classified as an incomplete pass. If a quarterback places the ball behind him, the play is still legal.

Wait - first play on offense or first "offensive" play? If it's a run up the middle for half a yard, would be both, lol.

What are the chances OC KC pulls out the "Hook and Ladder"?

What OL are we using for this?
