The SEC should be much better this year.
Last year, according to Ken Pomeroy's stats, the SEC had 8 teams that were 215th or lower in the nation in terms of returning experience, out of 344 teams, including 5 outside the Top 300.
Alabama - 215
Georgia - 258
Kentucky - 259
Florida - 312
MSU - 321
Vanderbilt - 338
Arkansas - 340
Ole Miss - 344
I don't think the SEC has ever been younger as a league. LSU was No. 22 in the nation in experience, so it's no surprise they won the title over a league full of kids when they were the only decent veteran team. Auburn was No. 31, and they had a surprise season because of their experience.
It's also no surprise that 4 of the teams expected to make a big turnaround this year (Florida, MSU, Vandy, and Ole Miss) all return the majority of their players off those young teams.
