Neither team has played an impressive schedule and both teams thumped the weak teams.
Look at the stats points for and against the proofs in the pudding.
I don't see a contradiction I see both teams played a weak schedule and put up common numbers. All I was saying is they are both pretty even matched teams. I'm done the dust will clear Saturday! You mentioned one reason for you, and then used the same reason to contradict yourself. Of course they are gonna put up good numbers against a weak schedule...
How can you not see it?I don't see a contradiction I see both teams played a weak schedule and put up common numbers. All I was saying is they are both pretty even matched teams. I'm done the dust will clear Saturday!
I am agreeing it's to be expected and both teams are pretty even. Should be a good game. How can you not see it?
You said to look at the points for and against. Those stats look very impressive, because they've played weak competition. That's expected.
Are you kidding? Appo hasn't played anyone, show me a team at any level with a harder schedule. Since you don't do your homework, here it is. Appo beat #1 seed 3A rustburg who lost in 3rd round, #6 seed 3A Heritage who lost in 3rd Rd, #5 seed 4A Amherst who lost in 2nd Rd, #4 Dan River & #5 Union 2A teams, add in 1A Altavista who lost in 3rd Rd (Note they could give most of these teams a good game). Having said that 10 out of 13 games have been to playoff teams. There is no size, speed, or talent that Appo has not seen but yet they have destroyed most everyone. Looking forward to Goochland but your statement saying Appo schedule is weak, show me a better one. (Final note, I would like to play Goochland on regular basis as they are only 1 Hour 15 minutes away. )How do you figure stabler1980? Neither team has played an impressive schedule and both teams thumped the weak teams. This will be a great game and to think someone is gonna put up those kind of numbers on Goochland is crazy. Look at the stats points for and against the proofs in the pudding. All I'm saying is Goochland and Appo is gonna be a show down and probably the true State final! The only reason Goochland is even the 2 seed is because they played Fork Union which doesn't count. So officially you have both number one seeds facing off undefeated!
Saturday should be fun to watch and I agree would love to see Goochland play Appo regularly. It would benefit both of them. I don't understand why Goochland plays Fork Union when it doesn't count and this year it was the reason they are the 2 seed. I'm done talking about it can't wait to see the match up.
Not taking anything from any teams but it definitely will not be an all east championship. Goochland might be able to pull of the upset against Appomattox if they can hold the Raiders to 14 or less but Stuarts Draft will not beat Richlands. Richlands schedule has been much tougher than Draft's has thus, they will be better prepared. Not to mention Richlands will have better athletes.
Oh I agree that there are other factors that schedule and athletes. I just think those two will be the deciding factors.Of course I am hoping my team wins, but there are teams all over the state that don't play as good a schedule as others but go further. I think I remember last year people talking about Clarke County schedule not matching up, but they made it to championship. All 4 teams remaining are very good, their schedule won't be the reason they don't win, it will be because the opponent was better that day. And I can pretty much guarantee that most every year that Riverheads doesn't have the athletes with teams they play. Sounds like George Wythe has a lot of size, speed, and athletes and Riverheads beat them last year. I am not saying your prediction is wrong, and certainly entitled to your opinion, I hope it is wrong, but there are other factors than schedule and athletes. Stuarts Draft does have some athletes as well
Vol have you seen appo play this year ! Under 14 what ! Really !! Unreal !!!! They are averageing 40 per game and only 14 points ! Cmon man !

"Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth" -Mike TysonEveryone wants to get in the ring and fight the Champ, be careful what you wish for because Appo will be there holding the ropes.
Dan River held them to 16 so it is possible. I know weather may have been a factor and unless the field is covered it may be a little soggy and that can hurt speed. Was referring to post up top that said upset if hold appo to 14 or less!
Hey Catchtd, that is exactly what I tell people when describing Appo, It's not being disrepectful to anyone, as I have seen teams give good effort but unless you can neutralize their speed and play physical it is going to be a long night. For Appo, it starts with the kickoff which they kick deep 90% of the time and then pin you inside the 20 (mostly 15) on a hard hit. That sets the tone for the entire series/game. I have only seen 2 maybe 3 kick returns get past the 25 unless he kicked out of bounds (happened like twice). Can Appo be beat, sure but you better bring it hard and you better bring it often. If that happens, I will be the first to tip my hat but I have had a really good time watching this group of boys play and can't wait to see them play this week. To the Goochland guys that watched last week, I am sure your coaches didn't see the game the way you reported. Because Appo took down a very good Union team and made it look easier than it seemed as Union had good size and 82 was a good player. Turnovers made the score a little bigger than maybe it should have been. A JV team they were not as they beat some good teams throughout the year. That kickoff is coming soon, buckle up Goochland the Raiders are coming. I am looking for a very good High School game. You better be physical and have a lot speed when you play Appo, just having heart ain't going to cut it.
