Can't get much better than this. I would have Lafayette in my top 10 over Woodgrove and LT though.

Can’t disagree with that , actually in my top ten Lafayette should be in it . Forgot about them. I just don’t know much about them , how about you give us a little info on them? Haven’t seen @Lafayette for a while . Are the heading up or down?

Yeh that’s part of it , you have to look at the schedule, just because a team is 9-1, doesn’t mean they are top 5, schedules are so diverse in 4A. Some teams play up , some down, some play up but the up teams are down....you have to keep up lol

I don't think there will be much of a drop-off with them. They have been very consistent the last few years, and they even looked loaded on the sideline last year.

1. Dinwiddie
2. Lafayette
3. Salem
4. Lake Taylor
5. Sherando

HM:

GW Danville
Louisa
Deep Creek
Blacksburg

This is just where I would start everybody based on what's returning. Obviously, no disrespect to Salem or Louisa on where I start them. If I was just going to start everybody off where they finished last year, these would be the top 2. I also expect things to change a lot by the end of the year. Salem didn't really hit full stride on offense and defense till the GW game.

Nobody has GW up very high , DSH , you want to predict where GW Danville should be?

I know Salem has to rely on some guys in key positions that haven't had significant playing time on Varsity, but their JV could probably make most people's Top 12! Come on Free, you ain't fooling nobody. 3 straight championships would at least get them a spot them in the Top 10 for the preseason poll. Don't let Dajon see this, he'll hunt you down.

They will be very solid this year with 2/3 of the team returning. Except at Qb the offensive backfield returns and much of the DB’s return with a stellar div 1 defensive lineman also returning. Lost 2 great defensive players but I see the team playing at about the same level this year.

These lists will be dramatically different in week 5. I expect GW and LT to move up a lot, and some surprises as always. I can't see any reason for Salem to be anything but #1, they'll reload again.

All that being said this year's team needs to prove its metal. Please don't tell Dajon.

Put some respect on Lake Taylor’s name! Can’t help it.. 7 teams in the East! The East is stacked. Salem & Glass are the only complete teams out West. These rankings mean absolutely nothing. I see a lot of disrespect especially towards LT. Don’t let the biases towards your friend’s team get in front of the truth. Remember 49-14.. How y’all justify that in the top 5? Take it how you want it.. A lot of good football ahead of us this season. Whoever makes it out of the East..Especially Region A.. Sweet baby Jesus!! These rankings don’t mean a thang! Don’t be surprised to see a team or two that isn’t a ranked team make some noise.

LT has a rematch with Freedom Woodbridge in Norfolk in September. I expect LT to have that one circled after last year.

I hope you're right, Lafayette, but I'm not as optimistic...they'll be solid, as always, but their defense was special last season w/Erwin.

Go Rams in 4A and Bulls in 2A!

Their defense may slip slightly but I expect the offense to also be slightly better.
