Only other SEC school that offered was Kentucky. He was not nationally rated nor state rated in Georgia...not even on the radar.

I think our entire d line is a solid group. Smith is doing an excellent job and getting to take advantage of opportunities created by the entire line. Not taking anything away from he because he has played incredibly. I think we are just fortunate to have a very solid front

Having 2 int's as a DL isn't a result of being fortunate because of who you're surrounded by. That's talent. I get your point that we've got a good front. But he's a bit ahead of just being a lucky beneficiary of a good group.

Yeah, total luck that he read where to drop into coverage and leaped higher than most guys his size can, then outran the whole UAB team to the endzone & bowled over a guy at the goal line. Total luck.

That was a tremendous play, do they still do the Top 10 on ESPN and did it get

mentioned? I don't keep up too well.

It was College Football Live's national play of the week... Not sure if it knocked off the Nebraska behind the back INT as the play of the year thusfar or even if that has been announced yet...

I'm so confused right now.

He made a leaping one handed catch with his left hand and he's a defensive lineman. That is talent.

Didn't he become a father on New Year's Eve? In every press conference everyone mentions how he became determined to get bigger and stronger this off season. Seems to be a switch that got flipped.

Oh, and having Turner doesn't hurt.

I've always thought Preston Smith was underrated. I remember him getting a sack a couple of years ago in mop up duty of some blowout (can't remember if we won or lost). He looked explosive back then and I remember wondering why he didn't get more playing time.

Good to see his hard work paying off.
