I hope you're right. I feel like mom and dad were sent in to do the dirty work of telling Mullen.

Or maybe there just there to see things...

Weren't we hearing earlier that CJ's Dad had never been to State? And the plans were for his parents to go to both campuses this weekend and meet with the coaches? Now I really don't know why CJ is not with them now after he was on our campus quite a bit yesterday. If the decision has already been made to go to OM I don't see the need for ANY of the family to come back to MSU. You could tell our staff the bad news via text or phone call just as easily and save yourself the trip.

When I hear someone spout off "lock" with a recruit.....

it almost always means they have no sources and are completely full of ****.....

BUT, with that being said, if who you said your source is, and you indeed had that conversation, I like what you are saying.....but then again, he said "lock"

im just anxious to see if someone can get to CJ's pastor and see what was really said between the pastor, CJ, and MSU coaches......that will shed the real light on everything....

Last night at midnight began the "quiet period" before the dead period starts tomorrow. It is my understanding that the only way a recruit can have a face-to-face with a coach today is if they were/are on an OV at the school...

Don't take that as gospel -- because the rule as written is open for interpretation, and I'm not 100% on it, but that's what I've been told to be the case...

But he was at OM this morning, wasn't he? Was he on an OV with them? That doesn't make much sense.

NCAA BYLAW 13.02.4.3 - QUIET PERIOD
A quiet period is that period of time when it is permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts
only on the member institution's campus. No in-person, off- campus recruiting contacts or
evaluations may be made during the quiet period.

Several sites on the net say it can be an official or unofficial visit. It just has to be on campus.

That's still left open for interpretation because it doesn't define the capacity of a "visit"...

I'm telling what I was told by someone at OM that works closely with compliance relative to baseball...

Amazing how these relationships have developed

Dan helicoptered in to Houston's game in Sept and then to Itawamba's at 1/2 that same nite. Yes they've become friends and future roomies.

Fact is if Itawamba had beaten Noxubee, I blv Shump would have had to face CJ in the next round. Kinda glad that didn't happen the way both play the game-all out.

I'll preface my below statement with this...prior to this weekend, I've never been on twitter, nor do I follow anyone there. But with all the banter I thought I'd look around a bit...that brought me to Coach's handle on twitter, where I noticed the following

Interesting theory...not impossible to believe. I don't necessarily believe you Coach (I don't know what to believe, nor will anyone outside of the "know" really find out till Wednesday...maybe never), but I will say this. You had a couple of conversations on twitter saying something to the effect that CJ was smitten with a female, nothing different that what you've said, but I did find it interesting that none other than "Coach Dan Mullen" was interested enough to follow (or whatever it is you do to someone's twitter post) you post. Secondly anther user who tweeted you, posted something to the effect that people needed to settle down and that CJ would be watching the superbowl with Mullen and the staff...really nothing different than what has been mentioned here tonight...but I noticed again, that this particular post tweaked the interest of one coach Mullen who followed this post as well. Obviously the last tweet couldn't have happened as the writer said as CJ didn't hit Starkville tonight.

Take it for what you will...it may mean absolutely nothing, but what Coach is saying has some weight that may have brought the interest of Mullen. Do I believe Coach34? At this point I don't care...all of this makes for a damn good read. Just more to talk about I guess. Bottom line we won't find out jack until Wednesday. Bash away.

If it plays out like this, then all the people who say "Encourage recruits to visit elsewhere" are idiots.
