So what will the staff's approach be to Bama? Our best shot to keep it close is to milk clock. Hopefully Boom, Snell, and Kemp can find a few seems and get some positive yardage on the ground. We absolutely must grind out some first downs, and not be 3 and out all the time. Pass just enough to keep the LBs and secondary honest, and then quick patterns where Johnson has less chance to get sacked. He's got to learn to throw the ball away when necessary. Can't afford negative plays or penalties with a highly superior team. Ball security and a decent number of first downs should enable us to chew up some clock. Bama will probably score just about every possession they have, so essential to limit their possessions. Make them use a long field and limit the big play...make them run clock. Something like 28-3 looks and feels a lot better than 56-10 or 65-14. Of course, the key will be the OL creating a few running lanes. Will be a very hard task, but that is how I would approach this game, and then hope that Bama makes a few mistakes along the way and that we can capitalize on them. Just remember, every once in a while strange things happen in this game of FB.
