The players in the super bowl weren't playing, and usually at least 2 players from each team are considered pro bowlers. Nobody watched the game, and it was all fluff. There was zero incentive to win and nobody gave 100%.

I think there should still be an All Pro vote. You can still have the glory and recognition of being one of the best at your position in the game and is good banter for the water cooler without the ridiculousness of the pro bowl game.

It was by far the worst all-star game in the 3 sports... and with it always being the week before the Super Bowl, none of the players people wanted to see play were playing. Also, it was watered down to the point it wasn't even fun to watch. The NBA all-star game is fun because it's like a really good pickup game... and I love the celebrity basketball game. Same with MLB... homefield advantage in the WS comes with winning the all-star game. Hell, even the NHL all-star game is better than the NFL. Good move by them.

i agree it is a mockery of the game, but i really do enjoy watching it, but not really for the game. I just like to see some of my favorite guys in a more relaxed atmosphere. I think they should still have "probowl teams" just not play the games

in place of the game what would you like to watch

qb challenge
7on7 tournament
various skills challenges that players want to play in
obstacles course ala american gladitors or something

Football first and other all-star professional games next.

Others I can somewhat understand but with the nature of football it is lunacy to play the game even with the rules in place to water down the contact.

The MLB all star game makes the most sense given two somewhat separate leagues but I still think the home field advantage to the winning league is kind of bogus.

The NHL, MLB, and NBA All-Star games are huge. For some odd reason the Pro Bowl sucks. It's in Hawaii for one and the best 2 QBs never play. If they did something like the home run derby or dunk contest but in football, I'd watch. If it were in the continental US I might even go.

Too many players get bonuses for making the Pro Bowl, and they can't just ignore that. They will probably still select teams, but I'm not sure if they will come up with some type of skills competition or not.
