With all the talk on Jones what about where we stand elsewhere. We currently have 22 commits where 2 of those have signed mid-year and I think count toward last year. So we have 20 unsigned commits and I gues we can sign up to 25 although I don't know if we will. So who's left on the board and who do we think we get:--Alexander twins--Toby Johnson--Jahmere Irving-Sills--Tony Conner--Fred Ross--Deon Mix--. Of that group who are we most likely to get? I'm thinking we may only sign 3 or 4 more and save a spot or two. Thoughts?

We "can" take 27. Rumor has it we're only taking 25 as a one-yr self-imposed scholarship reduction for the Redmond situation. We could potentially make it a 2-yr reduction, since we will only have room for about 20 next year(only 14 rising scholarship seniors, I believe)

ETA: I believe that 3 guys still listed as commitments will not be a part of this signing class(greyshirts). So, I think we've still got 5 total spots remaining...

Interesting notes on this...

So after Austin moves on and we add Cleveland we are still at 22 commits BUT as per listening to Logan Lowery on BSR today he says that both Ulric Jones and Trent Simpson have greyshirt offers. I knew that Jones offer was a greyshirt but that was the first I had heard that Simpson's offer was a greyshirt as well. However it does make sense given that Simpson is coming back from a knee injury. So that essentially takes us back to 20 total even including the 4 that have already enrolled. So even if we stop at 25 we can potentially still take 5 more commits. Will be interesting to see how it plays out and if we actually hold a spot and get our visit from Toby Johnson.

he's only 6'1- that's why...you want more height and reach at DE

just like QB, ideal size helps to develop into an elite player, it's definitely not a requirement to become an elite player.

that guy turned out pretty good.

now i'd prefer to have the 6'5" 260 lb guy that runs a 4.5 or something of course. but if we have spots and no guys with ideal size to fill them, i'm fine taking a shot with a productive player who isn't ideal size.

He's 6'0", 240 lbs. as measured at a camp in May 2011. He's likely 6'1", 250 lbs. or so by now. No reason why he shouldn't gain another 10 lbs. or so on a college weight lifting program. There are a bunch of NFL DTs in the 6'1", 260 lb. range.

Dylan. is a badassed football player. Don't know where he is going but they will happy in the future. Two 17ing inches will really make a big difference. We passed on Antony Gray who was 6' , he was a Hellof a player for the Buzzards, if they sign Dylan they will have a nuther good one. But we will sign some Guy who looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane

I remember USM had a guy by the name of Baylis, about 6', 215 lbs., that played NG for them. Quick as a cat, and caused us all kind of problems. We couldn't block him.
