Give it a few more years and those rings will really be ancient. Good thing you have the history to show your players within the facility because they sure haven't seen a championship level program with thier own eyes ( baby eyes, kid eyes, teen eyes and college eyes) it must be so hard to accept that you guys get excited about moral victories now instead championships!

Just participation rings.

I can understand a fan from a good team giving us a hard time, but Iowa fans. How many Big Ten titles in football does Iowa have? How many football national championship trophies are on display in Iowa City?

So the second half shouldn't give us hope that the kids might be figuring some things out? We shouldn't be happy that the kids played their hearts out and gave us a chance?

The loss absolutely sucks, but don't be pissed that some can see some good out of this team. Will it translate down the road? We certainly hope so. Moral victories suck. But the good can't be discounted either.

Last week, there were several posts suggesting that the important thing was that NU won. The fact that it was an ugly win was irrelevant. The win is the thing. Today, apparently the win isn't the thing - it's looking good in the final 30 minutes of defeat.

It is good that we did better in the second half, but I would feel better if they were fighting back valiantly against a top ten opponent, rather than against an unranked team. We went 28 in the hole to an unranked team.

No arguments there, but either the team is growing together and learning the new system, and will one day be a solid defense, or they will continue to suck. I am of the opinion that they will grow from this.

Again, the loss sucked. No two ways about it. But I choose to see the potential for improvement. If you choose not to see that, that's fine. You can call it a moral victory and make fun of people who see some positives, I will say the loss was a loss. I hope we learn from it.

We agree that the loss sucked. I understand the desire to accentuate the positive - I was once like that. Maybe this will finally be the NU team that actually gets better as the season goes along.

Last year, the Oregon coach made some boneheaded decisions that helped us win. The new coach went turtle in the fourth quarter. Maybe Oregon coaches just like Mike
They did go turtle, but at least we didnt quit.
I do hate moral victories at this stage, but its better than quitting.
