I used to make some deliveries in that area, nice countryside out that way.
Providence grove seems to have some balance. Seems like the running back is the key to stopping though.
Against McMichael in playoff opener, senior Providence Grove QB Andrew Canter completed 9 of 11 passes for 157 yards and 1 TD. Senior running back Zane Cheek ran 13 times for 173 yards and 3 TDs and senior Zander Cheek ran 4 times for 72 yards and 2 TDs.
McMichael defense allowed more than 32 points a game for season so make what you want of those numbers.

Good stats. Andrew’s last name is Canter. Lot of times gets misspelled.
CANTER....what a great name for a running back...if game is played on friday....it will be a wet one............good work well for PG............

When Reidsville lost to Page I said page would lose in the 1st round of the 4A playoffs (they lost) I said Shelby will take Forest hill to the woodshed despite FH having a 9-1 record (they did). I told a friend the Reidsville Madison game isn’t worth driving 40 mins to see (it wasn’t). Now we are here. The Reidsville Providence Groove game. Reidsville wins and move on to the 3rd round. It’s going to take a very good and deep running team with big backs and Offensive line to beat this Reidsville team.
do you think Eastern Alamance would beat Page? I still wish we had that game back, I think its dangerous playing against coach Rob, who knows Reidsville so well. Rob had a good game plan overall. They could not pass what's over against us.
If Rams win, then I think Chase says "I'll be your Huckleberry".............
Was Page game plan to have Reidsville jump offsides multiple times at all the wrong times? Reidsville's loss was self-inflicted, although they might have lost anyway.
What’s your point ! They still lost to a below average 4A football team. Jumping offsides, penalties is all part of the game. They still didn’t have an answer for their running game and those big backs. Reidsville will get their chance again to see if they learned anything from the page game when they face Chase in the 3rd round.
Rams did ok vs Eastern Alamance running game. Of course, still needs improvement
Possibly so…ER beat them 28-7 (but that’s a big rivalry game) and the common opponents scores between Wildcats and Rams have been similar. Except ER lost to Eastern Alamance, in a close game, while both beat Walkertown.
Reidsville will be a 12-14 point favorite over Providence Grove according to calpreps.com.....if Reidsville and Chase both win....Chase will be a slight favorite over the Rams..............
Simmons would have Reidsville as a 10 point favorite over Chase. Have to take care of business this week first obviously.
PG coach Calvin Brown is the brother of Grimsley HC Darryl Brown. I saw PG early in the year: Senior laden, well coached and athletic on defense. I am sure Reidsville will not take them lightly.
PG had some weapons the Cheek twins are fast real fast. Calvin Brown is one of the better coaches in my opinion he will have them ready. I think Reidsville wins but I don’t think PG just lays down.
At this point, + 1 is all it takes, moral victories mean nothing

Could Page beat E Alamance? it was 21-21 in our preseason scrimmage against EA, it's close in a real match up. Toss up.
Self inflicted loss? The penalties didn't help, but that's not the reason why Reidsville lost to Page. Page was more physical up front and Reidsville had a tough time stopping the Page running game.
Also, Page played probably our best defensive effort (and probably special teams) of the year in that game.
Page's biggest weakness this year, other than the defense being really young, was.. losing the offensive coordinator in July and the offense starting off the year slow, and the passing game having a hard time developing.
We take our hats off to Reidsville, such a great quality opponent.

They're a veteran team with nothing to lose at this point. Expect a wide variety of things/looks from the PG offense. Very balanced.
The most interesting thing about them is the QB position. You'll probably see Andrew Canter. But you could see Brady Collins. Or Chase Whitaker in certain situations. Or a little "Wildcat" with either Cheek twin.
The Cheek twins are PG's best overall athletes. Those guys can scoot.
PG has pretty decent size on both sides of the football. Their linebacking core is their strength. They have a fairly good kicker.
The Patriots are not a "smashmouth" team.

Speaking of Coach Brown.......I need to get a hold of his fitness routine. That man has more energy than some eight-year olds. When he was an assistant, it seemed like he walked/ran an equivalent of four miles each game.
