I know the game is a few days ago, but I haven't been able to bring myself to the boards after attending the PSU game. I saw the thread on the PSU Lion Roar, and agreed that it was annoying and overdone.

One other thing that I didn't see addressed in other posts was the PSU announcer etiquette. There were a number of RU offensive plays where super loud music or announcer speak was occurring with only 10-15 seconds left on our play clock. I'm all for the PSU crowd to be as loud as possible to screw with the opposing team's psyche, but I think it's bad etiquette and unfair for the stadium to be playing music or the announcer yelling over the loudspeaker. I'm pretty sure our stadium has more class in that regard.

And one more annoying thing - 10 seconds left on the play clock, and instead of showing the field on the big screens, they show random crowd shots! I'm up in the friggin' top section NKU (10 rows from the highest point in the stadium, with Rutgers on the offense on their 1 yd line in the opposite end zone, and they can't put the teams on the screen? And when they do show the field, they go for a psychedelic zoom in/zoom out (repeatedly) shot on the screen. What, do they have teenagers manning the cameras? Sheesh, how unprofessional!!!

OK, I'm done, and I feel better.

I have to agree with you on both points. I was thinking the same thing during the game, music was still going way too long when we were on offense. They have 2 really nice, large video screens on each end zone but for some reason would not cut to them until the play started. Would love to know the reason why. We were in the corner of the stadium so when they were down at the other end its nice to be able to see the plays on the screen but they waited until the ball was snapped to switch, makes no sense. I also didn't understand the zooming in and out really fast when PSU was on defense, it was very bizarre. Seems like a waste of some really nice video screens.

Sorry guys but we definitely have VERY loud music playing, right up until the QB is under center, etc, down to the nitty gritty, let's not pretend that we don't.

I don't miss the loud music all at. It ruins the experience.

I find it sad that is takes all the loud music, 3rd down stuff, and other BS to keep people entertained. That is why they do it. No other reason.

A week ago I posted that the PSU announcer etiquette was pretty bad, and some people disagreed saying that we did the same thing. So I went to the game today, and decided to listen to our announcer from an opposing team viewpoint. I found that our announcer WAS more respectful of the opposing team. If we had music playing over the PA, it always cut out by the 18 second mark on the play clock (very consistent, making me think someone is monitoring the playclock.) Many times, there was no music/talking from the 25 second mark. I only heard one case (the 3rd down goal line stand, where KSU was on our 1 yard line) where the PA music continued until the 10 second mark (and Kansas didn't start their play until the 5 second mark, and it was a touchdown.)

So, I still stand by my comments from a week ago, that PSU has bad PA etiquette, and ours is better.

The conference should ban artificial music played during conference games when the game is in play. Do it for real or don't do it at all.
