My son lives some distance from me. His wife is due (actually, was due 1/14) to give birth to their 2nd child. Once she goes into labor, my wife and I will be traveling to their house to take care of their older child for a few days, while the parents are in/at the hospital. Since my schedule could so radically be upset by a simple call/text telling us it's time to travel to my son's house, I'm setting this thread up the night before, to make sure that it gets posted. (You don't even want to hear about how much this could impact my reffing, as I'm slated to do a tournament on Saturday, and multiple duals next week. All of the assignors know that with very little warning, I could suddenly be unavailable.)

Please use the thread for all pre-match, in-match, and post-match discussion for the 2026 PSU - Iowa dual.

When:
January 16, 7:00 pm EST

Where:
Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City, IA

TV:
the match will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network

Video Streaming:
Subscribers of the BTN can watch a stream of the TV coverage on their computer, or on their phone via the Fox Sports App

Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-match portion of the broadcast will begin at 6:40 pm EST, with the actual dual taking place at 7:00 pm EST. You can access the audio stream at:

gopsusports.com

Lion Vision

gopsusports.com

gopsusports.com

Once there, scroll down, find Wrestling: Iowa, and press the arrow in the button to the left of that text.

PBP:
For the reason listed above, I'm unsure of my availability for PBP. If my daughter-in-law has not yet gone into labor, I should be able to provide PBP. I haven't checked with @SlipperyPete or @GregPickel in advance. but I suspect one or more of them will also be available. Hopefully, between the three of us, we'll have the PBP covered. That said, we always encourage others to participate, and post thoughts about things that happen in the dual. And as always, a reminder that if you are doing PBP, please post the score of the match, as well as the team score of the dual, at the end of each match.

Sending well wishes for both parents and grandparents. The journey of grandparenting is so much easier than parenting. Enjoy it again!

I mean I guess that is better than reffing 50 matches, but either way, I still can’t get out of my head an image of you doing all this stuff while wearing that William Penn tricorner in real life.

Is this a 2 hour weigh in ? Meaning weighing in 2 hours before the match….
Section 2.

Art. 3. Weigh-In Times. For all competition types, the weigh-in times shall be two hours or sooner from the start time of competition. If the coaches participating in an event do not mutually agree to a weigh-in time less than two hours, the weigh-in time will default to two hours prior to the start time of competition.

Do note that this is only how it's entered on Iowa's live stats page. It does not list two wrestlers at 141 or 157, despite Iowa's social media lineup graphic doing so. Take all of that FWIW:
