Some actually call it sociopathyI think AJ has a problem very similar to ADS - impulse control. He might be wired a little differently than we think.

I think it was hard to do because Welsh was just stalking and head snapping. I believe the strategy to be correct but when not engaging either hard to call stealing unless you go double stall.Yeah, I thought it odd Angelo got hit with the stall in the 1st, and then was given a pass the rest of the way. Several opportunities, for a second or third stall call IMO
I like Grasso, or however ya spell it.On a different note, I loved the ref tonight. One or two mishaps but overall very solid.
What is seen in this video are acts of unleveling the playing field from within the house that Bob built
The Iowa fan next to me explained: when Cassopi was with Iowa the crowd would make the “OOO” sound during the match. Apparently they haven’t let it go to this date. What was the noise making at CHA during the 285 match? Was it a bunch of locals cheering on Kueter?
Are we not counting the Iowa Community College kid because he isn't D1?Bailey has 4 losses, one was an MFF at a tourney.
His 3 contested losses were to Mendez, Vega (in SV), and Echemendia, all ranked top 4 in the country.
Let's not read too much into Bailey's losses.
I disagree. Repeatedly dropping to a knee and initiating zero offense from the position is as blatant a stall as the guy who backs straight to the edge and circles backwards from from there, always retreating with zero offensive attempts. Get up and wrestle.I think it was hard to do because Welsh was just stalking and head snapping. I believe the strategy to be correct but when not engaging either hard to call stealing unless you go double stall.
If he was constantly attacking from that position, it could be argued that he’s just using it to set up his takedowns. That’s not stalling. But when you’re just holding in that position to prevent the other guy from attacking, that’s stalling, pure and simple.I disagree. Repeatedly dropping to a knee and initiating zero offense from the position is as blatant a stall as the guy who backs straight to the edge and circles backwards from from there, always retreating with zero offensive attempts. Get up and wrestle.
I don’t know what your beef is with this guy. He makes great points:You are truly a clown show
See my previous post above. I think there’s some strong evidence that Sunshine has posted on this board before under a legendary moniker.I don’t know what your beef is with this guy. He makes great points:
1) Our guys really need to learn how to create angles .
2) We can’t do what we always do and let up on the gas at the end of the season.
Would’ve easily won that dual 50-0 last night if Sunshine was in the chair. I think Nick Lee was thinking the same thing.
***** wink wink
They also need to hit the weights hard of course…I don’t know what your beef is with this guy. He makes great points:

And they need to make sure that at least eight of them score at the NCAA tournament. They also need to hit the weights hard of course…
I rewatched the dual this morning. The one thing that really stood out was Penn State’s edge wrestling. The constant ability to be the wrestler that circles in and puts his opponent’s back to the edge of the circle.
Go Sunshine Spyker, go!See my previous post above. I think there’s some strong evidence that Sunshine has posted on this board before under a well known moniker.
If Eddie Haskel was a wrestler…He’s such a rascal
Are we not counting the Iowa Community College kid because he isn't D1?
Yes, a 5 count is too long. If Pyle's stats are correct the average time Angelo spent on he knee was less than 5 seconds. That was without a rule. A 5 count would barely impact the tactic. The problem with a 5 count is Angelo went to his knee 32 times. What needs to happen is the third time he goes to his knee it is a stall call.
The ref also should have hit him with a stall for his lazy walk getting back to the center to restart.
God, was i relieved to see the wink, wink.I don’t know what your beef is with this guy. He makes great points:

https://share.google/JrhCsBvTvbEShSl5n This guy says Angelo is way too active.Well that’s debatable, but, let’s agree that he’s in the running for “most boring”. He’s got 3 more years to develop ….. but, not all of those 3 years will be in Iowa City. Even a low IQ person knows when he’s not being developed.
That was Guns, not Spyker. And they need to make sure that at least eight of them score at the NCAA tournament.
Agreed. And the one that looked super dangerous SVN turned into a 7 point move for himself. I thought he was dead to rights. Never count that dude outSo today I watched vid of a handful of matches. While obviously there were some relatively close ones, I was struck by the fact that even when Iowa wrestlers were taking shots, one just never had the sense that the psu guys were seriously at risk very much. Despite the irony that they were clearly the more offensive team.
Some of the matches just weren’t as close as the scores might have suggested
I had an Eddie Haskell-esque officer work for me once. I even nicknamed him Eddie Haskell! I kept getting all these citizen complaints on him that he was rude and overbearing, etc. When I would ask him about the complaints he swore that he had no idea how any citizen could be upset with him since he was nothing but kind and professional with everyone : ).If Eddie Haskel was a wrestler…
Definitely dating myself with that one.
I’m sure you know that the real life Eddie Haskell, Ken Osmond, joined the LAPD sometime after his acting career ended. He was actually shot while on duty but lived through the incident. He passed away in 2020.I had an Eddie Haskell-esque officer work for me once. I even nicknamed him Eddie Haskell! Kueter needs matches. PK was ducked to protect a seed, which sucks, but he was the only one and they at least have a backup who’s not a pigeon.Yet Ben was sent out to toe the line, and Kennedy was denied the chance to compete. Brilliant
No, I completely get it. My post was a poor attempt at “tongue-in-cheek” comedy.See my previous post above. I think there’s some strong evidence that Sunshine has posted on this board before under a legendary moniker.
I really think that Brands thought Arnold would do better than Kennedy against Levi. Based on the scores, he did make the right decision.Kueter needs matches. PK was ducked to protect a seed, which sucks, but he was the only one and they at least have a backup who’s not a pigeon.
I sure hope I’m right. Spyker was/is a one of a kind poster. I was disappointed when he stopped posting on the old board. No, I completely get it. My post was a poor attempt at “tongue-in-cheek” comedy.
I agree with some recent comments from Pyles on this topic before the dual. He said the NCAA doesn't need to make a new rule for this. They just need to call it as generic "no action" stalling. If more officials would consistently treat it as stalling then wrestlers like Angelo would have to adapt. If officials called it as stalling early and consistently in matches then things would change. @El_Jefe has talked about this for years. If officials would simply call stalling properly then there would be no need to enact additional rules. It seems obvious to me that consistently going to one knee when you are not attacking or being attacked with a clear TD attempt surely meets the current stalling rules, which are:Yes, a 5 count is too long. If Pyle's stats are correct the average time Angelo spent on he knee was less than 5 seconds. That was without a rule. A 5 count would barely impact the tactic.
Ask JTS how to start 100 accounts.I wish I could like this post 100 times. 100% agree with you
I disagree strongly with Pyles on this.I agree with some recent comments from Pyles on this topic before the dual. He said the NCAA doesn't need to make a new rule for this. If officials would simply call stalling properly then there would be no need to enact additional rules. It seems obvious to me that consistently going to one knee when you are not attacking or being attacked with a clear TD attempt surely meets the current stalling rules, which are:
SECTION 7. STALLING Art. 1. Description. One or both wrestlers attempting to avoid wrestling action as an offensive or defensive strategy Art. 2. Initiating Action. Action is to be maintained throughout the match by the wrestlers staying near the center of the mat and wrestling aggressively in all positions (top, bottom or neutral)
If he sticks with that strategy through B1G10s into NCAAs and has a deep run the TV people aren’t going to be too happy. Boring does not hold an audience’s interest. Prior to the semis they can just move to another mat but for the semis and finals they would be pretty well struck. It does look like his left leg is wide open but you have to beat his head/hands to actually get there. That’s why it’s an effective strategy. In most baseline defense you have to drop your level to defend a shot with your head/hands but he’s already super low being on his knee. To really attack that leg you need to hit a drag or something similar with his left arm to clear his defense on that side. Seems easy but clearly it’s not. Also, his leg is so far back. You need to really penetrate to reach it and can’t go straight on. It’s seems like a sweep single should work but I don’t think you can penetrate as far as you need doing that. It’s a super tough position to beat which is why he constantly uses it. It’s just boring as **** though and hard for him to generate offense from as well
I think he means that they were willing to come to Iowa. Most are not, and many who do quickly leave.Neither does he.
Nine scoring would be bad, 10 even worse. It’s got to be 8!And they need to make sure that at least eight of them score at the NCAA tournament.
Too busy recruiting for us. PrioritiesBut can Willie make 285?
I'm not sure if anyone saw early in the match from the lower camera facing the Penn State coaches. Nick Lee got up and yelled some advice to PSU wrestler. He sat down and I'm thinking he thought he may have overstepped his role. He said something to Cael. ,who smiled and gave Nick a pat on his knee to confirm it wasn't an issue . It was something a father figure would do.
Maybe someone can confirm what bout it was.
