The biggest part of the problem being Boomers coming up with the idea. Don't blame children for the faults of parents.
I do not believe I was blaming the children for the faults of their parents or, more accurately, the faults of a certain group of adults. Boomers that actually competed as they grew up generally "despise the everybody gets a trophy mentality" and the actual push comes from a certain subsection that either (a)did not enjoy competition as a child or (b)has been led down a path of enabling and entitlement on their way to adulthood.
