How does anyone know that Kiel can put up the numbers he did at UC in the SEC?
If he was so much further ahead of Barker, why didn't our new coaches bring him with them?
Why are we bringing in a Juco QB if the new OC wants Kiel?
I would be shocked if he ended up here.
I would say that he could. In 2014, he put up 352 yards, 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions and completed 65% of his passes against Ohio State, and he did that with Cincinnati's talent against Ohio State's talent (in case you already forgot, tOSU won the championship).
Put up 523 yards and 4 touchdowns (2 interceptions) against Houston this season.
I'd say the kid is more than capable at putting up a lot of points on SEC defenses. He's done a lot more with less next to him at Cinci.
Aside from that being said, I agree that I don't think he'll end up here. I question the fit. We have a QB similar to him in Drew Barker, and the new offensive staff like Barker a lot. Hinshaw absolutely raved about him.
We need a QB like Stephen Johnson though. A dual-threat guy with the ability to read defenses pre-snap, and be a serious threat in the read-option, while still being able to make the necessary throws at a nice clip.
