I pray KT doesn't transfer out.

Him and Lebby looked pretty close at the start of the season... always celebrating TDs together.

Now i rarely see them together during the games.

Makes me nervous.

He’s gonna do what he’s gonna do. But you don’t give out playing time “so a player won’t transfer.” If/when he deserves to play more he will. If he transfers out we’ll replace him. We have to start looking at these players as commodities. Cause that’s sure how they’re looking at the schools.

Luke will probably be somewhere else next year & KT will the QB at MSU
My guess is Luke will be our starter & Taylor will get the full blown Tebow FR role so many wanted him to have this year. I don’t see him being ready to start before year 3.

We are still playing for bowl eligibility which would be big for us and that could be up in the air until our very last game. Even if we are 4-7 and fall out of bowl contention after Mizzou, are we really going to bench Shapen and start the freshman just for the Egg Bowl? I really doubt it.

This is Shapen’s team as long as he’s standing upright this fall.

I think similar to Leach, Lebby needs a mobile QB to run his offense for it to maximize its effectiveness. I’d like to see him give KT a couple of series every game. Wish he’d been doing it. He’s an injury away from starting now, just like MVB last year, and he’s got better tools. If he’s the/a plan for QB1 next year, it would be nice to give him more experience than the occasional QB draw on short yardage. Since we saw MVB come in and do it, no way KT can’t.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see another qb from the portal signed with KT and Luke riding the bench again. Or one of those transferring out.

If Shapen were to get hurt, I think we’d see Luke lose the redshirt and start. KT’s role wouldn’t change much.

Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
Best case scenario. We win 2 of next 4 with Shapen and get a bowl bid. Then, we play KT exclusively bowl prep week and during bowl game.

If we see another QB signed that is experienced, older and to be put ahead of those 2, they will undoubtedly both transfer out

And if we do, that's probably a good thing because we're not doing that unless we think we can sign someone better, or we know that one or both of them are transferring out anyway.

If you're going to do this, go ahead and bench everyone who is likely leaving after 2025. Don't know why you'd restrict it to QB.

Once you think about it that way, you start to realize how moronic of an idea it really is.

I don’t agree with this. If he can’t even make a simple read now, what makes you think he will develop into the next Lamar? I think he was woefully overrated. it’s not like Noxubee County plays and beats the best in the State. Don Smith is the last QB at State that came from a small school and was misused early in his career.
Dak came from a big school.
Fitzgerald came from a big school.
van Buren came from a big school.
Schader came from a big school.

Jackson Arnold is definitely going to transfer out. Not sure he would do any better under Lebby than Freeze, but I could see him moving to Starkville.

i could also see Arch Manning moving to Oxford because Texas is definitely going for a QB in the portal!

You're really watching the players/coaches on the bench that much? Sounds weird.

We literally put the ball in his hand late in that game. It didn’t go well.

I “learned” this the last two years watching Texas and wondering why they didn’t play Arch more. Now we know why; he ain’t real good.
346 yds and 3 TDs say he ain't real bad either for a first year starting QB in the SEC.

He’s 14th in SEC total QB rating. Just behind Shapen & ahead of Arnold & Lagway.
That's cool. It's his first year. This is Shapen's 5th year. It takes a WHOLE season to develop a solid SEC QB who's starting for his first time. Arch is a freshman in every sense of the word in Texas's offense. He's got 2 more seasons to play there. He is 6'4", good arm strength, and runs as well as any QB on our roster. Lagway and Arnold are experienced QBs also. I dread to say what Arch will do to us in Austin next year. If he's not tearing it up by then, I will agree with you.

It’s his 3rd year.
