Quarterback Recrootin - I'm thinking that it's much more likely......

Correct. Woullard will announce soon. Well before we are able to establish report, much less an OV. Supposedly we are doing an in-home with him this week, though that is not set in stone.

The fact that Woullard announced when he is making his announcement well before our in-home means we are not even in game.

No, it doesn't mean that. Woulard is announcing on Jan 5. The reason he chose that date was because it was the Army All-American game that he is playing in. He doesn't have an SEC offer yet, and he wants one badly. He's taking a calculated risk that it will all be figured out by then so he can announce on tv, because as of today he has no idea where he's going.

Let's play a little "what if". What if Cord signs with MSU, gets drafted by MLB and immediately goes pro. Then he fizzles out in baseball after a couple of seasons and comes back to State with still 4 years of football eligibility. This wouldn't be the first time this scenario has happened. See Brandon Weeden and Chris Weinke for reference. Mullen needs to sign another QB or two on top of Cord.

Everyone needs to chill out and think logically for a minute. If we are taking a second guy and realize that it's a huge priority for us, yet we are only actively recruiting one(Dobbs) and passively recruiting another(Woulard), what do you think that means?

To me, it means we have the utmost confidence in getting one of the previous two...

Utmost confidence in a guy who's committed somewhere else? You sound like an Ole Miss fan promising to flip a player on Signing Day. Like I said, our history isn't the best here.

he was consistently talked about being better than Nick. If we would have only had Russell and Dak, I highly doubt we allow Nick to just run back home or xfer to Clemson.

It is funny your logic is only going one way. What if you offer the other hs qb and Sandberg gets pissed and goes to MLB because you didn't value his word. Now you have lost the guy you had committed to a lesser rated guy, because you paniced.

You have to trust Mullen. The 'truth' is you and I are both speculating on what a 18 yo is going to do. Mullen didn't just go all out over Alford last year, he stuck with Liggins and Alford signed with a pro team. I am sure Mullen and Cohen are both discussing the possibilities and what may or may not happen.

Right now it looks like Cord will be here. Yes continue to talk to other possiblities, but you can move from Cord, yet. If we sign Cord we don't need another QB

Wrong on both counts.

It's been documented that Sandberg is cool with us recruiting another QB. He's planning to play both at college if he comes, after all. And 'right now' all signs point towards him going pro in MLB, NOT coming to Starkville.

And like I said, you lack any semblance of common sense. I'm not promising to "flip" anyone - nor did I even say I was talking about Dobbs. If we weren't sure we were going to get one of them(or at least could if we needed to), we would be actively recruiting someone else. You have to try really hard to be too dumb to see that.

But by all means - carry on with your unjustified panic-mongering...

Phillip Rivers was a freaking 2 star? Get out of town. Excellent post......

Raw talent is one thing, but it has more to do with the QB coaches and the OC at the respective schools. I think Dak is going to be a premier talent once Dan gets through with him. Considering that Dan stays, Dak will be the first dual threat QB that will have been in Mullen's system for all five years.

He will be the first true dual threat QB to start a game under Mullen at State.

Or it means Golden is coming along as a viable player also
