I looked up his Rivals profile from 2013 and noticed out of many schools on him a few had a recruiter listed (NU, Oregon, Washington, ND, UCLA and Stanford). I assume these were the schools he had most interest in. Our recruiter was Cotton. Was he a Stanford lock from the get go or did we have a chance? That is one 500-mile radius guy it is too bad we missed on.

Both his parents went to Stanford so I really don't think NU had much of a chance. His brother is a 4* QB in the 2017 class and was just offered by NU.

I am guessing NU probably didn't cut it academically for him. He has an older brother at Duke. Like wxman said both parents went to Stanford. I want to say his mom was an All American soccer player there, plus Ed went there and he played with Elway forever in Denver, so you probably have that tie in as well.

I am thinking that would be like having another school out recruit Nebraska for a Rudd kid. Probably wasn't going to happen, so I don't know that you can say we missed out on him.

As Scott Frost might say - if you have a chance to go to Stanford - you go to Stanford. Until they move you to DB - then you transfer to Nebraska to play QB.

Education is very important as you said. I don't think Neb would make the cut. I'm guessing a Duke or Stan lean. There's the QB and a younger brother coming as well. The genes in that fam are unreal. Great family!!

And it's a good thing he came back, no NC in 1997 without him.
